ARCHIVED I'm Nervous To Go To A Support Group Meeting
TinkerbellSwt replied to a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I found a group near myself too in central NJ. I am apprehensive b/c I dont like going into a group of people I dont know. I actually did contact the "contact person" for the local group and she was a little odd. She was an older woman, who was almost nasty to the point of me hanging up, she wanted to know what my purpose was in calling her when I called... -
I also dont worry much about CC in my kitchen. I do all the cooking and I only cook gluten free, my husband and now my son only eat that way anyway and my hubby is a great sport about it. The only thing he keeps is his own sandwich bread which is kept across the kitchen from all my stuff and we wash all plates in the dishwasher, which cleans everything...

My pms has gotten horrible. I always had a tough time of it. Now it is just off the board. The nastiness, the general angry feeling I get. I cant get out of my own way!

ARCHIVED Dear Pizza Hut.....i Hate You........
TinkerbellSwt replied to angel-jd1's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Krispy Kreme donuts never have been a big deal to me. In fact I had only heard of them a few years ago, as they werent a NJ thing. Then they come in and build the first Krispy Kreme in NJ right in my town. Needless to say... they have closed their doors forever. Out of business. Guess NJ doesnt like Krispy Kremes that much. We can still get them boxed... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Challenge?
TinkerbellSwt replied to TinkerbellSwt's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you so much for your response. I dont think I need to do it as I was so sick, in the hospital, literally dying, because I had basically no nutrients in my body. I was hooked up to all kinds of fluids and massive pain meds. I got home like others, had problems digesting dairy, but for me that was a very short time. So I guess I dont need to challenge... -
Can someone explain to me exactly what a gluten challenge is? Is this something I should do?

TinkerbellSwt replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
No actually I didnt. I just left it on the counter covered with a light cloth. I heated up the oven after 45 minutes past and the bread had just a bit more time left to proof. I just finished off that loaf of bread! I cant believe how good it is. My dh raves about it too. I ate the whole thing in two days! Goes to show you how much I loved it! -

I hiccup maybe once every year and that is a long shot. My son however, hiccups at least once or twice a week. I am not sure if that is due to just his age? or something with gluten.

ARCHIVED Eating gluten-free Oats
TinkerbellSwt replied to hez's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have a little bit of oats almost everyday. As I test the cereal for my son on my lips to see how hot it is. When I say a dab of cereal its almost miniscule. I dont know if its hurting me. I dont feel any different. But maybe overalll that is why I dont feel very good. I am trying to keep my son gluten free.. the only gluten he eats is his oatmeal... -
ARCHIVED Neopets Cereal
TinkerbellSwt replied to KellyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Unfortunatly those cereals come and go. Its the flavor of the week basically. It happened with other "cartoon" cereals. They make them while the character is popular and then they change to the next one. I used to work in a grocery store. It has been this way for years. The only thing I can tell you is to watch for the next one.. it will show up eventually... -
