  1. He he he... Yeah, I buy Kinnikinnick everything. Even their flours are way better than some others that I've tried. Plus, I trust them 100%. I love all of their bread products that I've tried thus far, bagels included, and I really like their ginger snap cookies. My husband can't keep his hands off of them either. Have you tried their cinnamon rolls yet?...
  2. I have tried a lot of breads since going gluten free. In my pre-dx days I always preferred white breads, wonder sponge types. Kinnikinnick has THE BEST white bread substitution! I generally buy things directly from them in major bulk since they have flat rate $10 shipping. Actually, my husband bought me a huge upright freezer for the basement for Christmas...
  3. Do you know when she will be getting the results back? Keep in mind that probably all of your symptoms that match up to HIV symptoms could also be the product of other issues. Plus, if I recall correctly, you do have other symptoms that don't match up with HIV symptoms. Keep that in mind throughout this whole process. It's likely that you don't have HIV...
  4. I agree. Last night was great. We especially like Melinda and LaKisha. They are both so talented. It's a shame that they both have such low self esteem. I don't know how far they'll get if they don't come out of their shells. I really like Gina too, but I don't know that she has what it takes to go far. I hope she makes it to the top 12. It's such a shame...

    ARCHIVED Red Robin

Dave is actually now the general manager of an Uno's in Reading, PA.
  6. John, you will have a wonderful vacation. Disney World is amazing for Celiacs. If you're not planning on hitting the parks every day while you're there and you're not staying at a Disney resort I HIGHLY recommend going to Downtown Disney for dinner. They have free parking and no admission fee. Portabello Yacht Club was our absolute favorite place to eat there...
  7. Lister, I know this must be incredibly hard for you. Please remember that we are your friends and we're here for you, Celiac or not. You can tell us anything. If ever need a shoulder to cry on, we will be there for you. If you need to share a laugh, we will be there for you. You don't have to do this alone. Please let us know the results of her test when...
  8. Gail and Amanda, that's Blake, the beat boxer with the spiked up blonde hair. I think, depending on the girls' performances, he has a good chance of winning this year if he's consistent. I really like Chris Sligh though, the chubby kid with the afro. He cracks me up. Read his profile on americanidol.com. It's hilarious. I didn't understand why Simon said...
  9. We're HUGE Idol fans. We've been following it since the first season. This year our favorites are Chris Sligh, Chris Richardson, and Blake Lewis. Blake was incredible last night. He blew me away. We do like Phil Stacey and Sundance Head, but I think poor Sundance is headed home after last night. Wow, I'm not coming off as a fanatic, am I? I can...
  10. The thought of that makes my skin crawl!!! Argh...
  11. Check out allrecipes.com. They have everyday meals and then it breaks them down into the time it takes to prepare them. They have a ton of 30 minute meals. Just browse through and click on ones that you think might be gluten free. Most are already gluten free, and if they're not they can be easily adapted. Allrecipes.com has literally saved my dinner many...

Three deserts??? Which ones??? I mean, I get the chocolate thunder all the time, sometimes we go just for that, I didn't know there were others. Other than the cinnamon apple thing which they make you take half of the stuff off of to make it gluten free.
  13. I've never seen masa harina anywhere... Is it generally gluten free? It's not on Bob's Red Mill's gluten free list. Not that I would want to buy it from them anyway.
  14. Whew... Well, that's a relief. I'm getting to that point in my life where I'm starting to question how young I actually am anymore. Funny thing though, most of my friends are in their early 20's. Ha. My husband told me I was turning 30 this year!!! Thank God he's horrible with math and dates and I'm only turning 29. Still, it was quite the surpise hearing...
  15. I'm planning on trying to make the traditional chocolate ones at some point. I just haven't had time to do a whole lot of experimenting lately. I'm kind of falling into some food ruts (cravings). I don't have a recipe yet that I'm pleased with, that's why I went ahead and converted the pumpkin ones. Search around on allrecipes.com and just use my flour...
  16. Mamaw, the pregnancy is going great so far. I'm almost 14 weeks already. We had to have an ultrasound two weeks ago because the baby was measuring in at 18 weeks and I'm feeling him move already. Turns out that he's just a strong little kicker and he measured in at a perfect 12 weeks via ultrasound. So, things are good. The ultrasound looked really good and...
  17. Does anyone know where to buy masa harina that is definitely gluten free? I want to make some sweet corn cakes, but I don't know where to buy the stuff. Bob's Red Mill has some, but it's not on their gluten free list nor do I trust BRM. If this isn't possible to buy gluten free, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for substitutions? I'm dying to...

The seasoned butter has not been gluten free for quite some time, at least a year and a half, probably much longer. At least at my Outback it has always been listed on the menu as not safe. Just order your veggies without butter and they will be gluten free. The menu should instruct you to do this anyway. There's no flour added to the veggies, just the seasoned...
  19. Wow, it sounds like she's doing much better then. That's great news. Hopefully she'll be able to come home tomorrow and get her long awaited shower. I was really worried for you guys. Tori had rotavirus last year and she was soooooooooooo sick so I can definitely sympathize. We thought we were going to have to hospitalize her for it. It's definitely not a...

    ARCHIVED Outback

The gluten free menus at my Outback say that you should order the steamed veggies without seasoning because the seasoning is not gluten free. This is the seasoning they whip into the butter. The last two revisions of the gluten free menus that we've gotten have both stated this clearly. Perhaps some of the Outbacks in your area have outdated gluten free menus...
  21. A whoopie pie is two soft cake-like cookies with a frosting cream in the center. Kind of like a big, soft Oreo, except this recipe is pumpkin flavor rather than the traditional chocolate. They're very tasty. You know guys, I've actually never seen the Newleywed Game. Please tell me that makes me too young rather than too old. Jokamo, I'm not sure what...
  22. Any chance she ate any contaminated peanut butter??? Or that she also has Celiac on top of the infection???
  23. Your poor mother... I can't even imagine what that would be like watching your daughter suffer like that. It's ridiculous it took them that long to follow doctor's orders, especially since she was dehydrated. Hopefully that won't cause any setbacks in her recovery. Do they have any clue yet what is going on? I'm assuming she's being admitted over night, right...
  24. Welcome to the forum!!!
  25. Amanda, that's horrible! I will keep her in my prayers. Please let us know how things go over the next few days. Hopefully they'll have some answers relatively quickly so you and and your family aren't in the dark for long. Let me know if you need anything. I'm not too far away if you need help. Anything, just let me know.
