  1. Oh totally, Melinda was insanely good. I just thought Gina was really edgy for the first time and that shows guts and it showed off her talent too. I think Melinda's probably the best singer in the competition, hands down, but I don't think she has the personality to win it. I love Blake, but my husband thinks he's going to get voted off early just like Daughtry...
  2. Susan, are you coming by train or plane? I'm sure I can whisk up some special treats as well. It is nice that there are so many of us who follow Idol. BTW, Gina ROCKED tonight!!! Wow!!! And Melinda!!! Double WOW!!! I'm so glad that the girls are holding this show together because if it weren't for them I'd be so totally bored right now.
  3. It's nice to know you are only a stone's throw away :)

  5. Thank you all. I can't take liquid meds so my hubby just went out to get me some of the pills. Thank you!
  6. Does anyone know if Benadryl is gluten free? I'm pregnant and haven't slept in like 48 hours because i have a horrendous cold. Benadryl is one of the few things that my doctor says I can take that won't drive me up a wall. I'm very sensitive to medications. Cold medicines have a stimulant effect on me and they make me really, really, really hyper. All I want...
  7. Geoff, we use 1and1.com as well and have been very pleased with their service and their prices. I would definitely recommend them as well.
  8. I manage and designed our website, guhlmotors.com. I can likely help you out with any questions you have. Drop me a PM and I'll talk you through whatever you need to know.
  9. I love Chris Richardson, but he was NOT my favorite last night. I definitely agree with Randy that Chris Sligh had the best performance of the night. The guys really sucked I thought. If I didn't have a three year old climbing all over me, I probably would have fallen asleep too. It was totally lame last night. I didn't even think Blake did very well last...
  10. Hmmmm... That's a tough one if the flour mix you used didn't work. I have a recipe for gnocchi that calls for boiling the dough, but I've never tried it so I don't know how it works. The flour combo they use is tapioca FLOUR, white rice flour, brown rice flour, potato FLOUR, corn starch, xantham gum. I'm thinking based on that recipe that perhaps it's your...
  11. Throughout my entire life I had episodic diarrhea. I thought that I just caught stomach bugs a lot. It would never last for more than a day, generally it would only last 3-5 hours, but it would happen a few times a year. My main symptoms of Celiac, up until it got bad, were not GI in nature. My main symptoms included depression and other emotional issues...
  12. I'm only 5'3" and that's probably stretching it... I'm the shortest one in my family so I'm assuming that Celiac played a role in my height.
  13. Ewwww.... That's so disgusting!
  14. It is oddly windy here, isn't it? Maybe somehow it'll blow all this yucky cold weather out of here and bring us some warm sunshine!
  15. What is your original recipe for the dough? Which Hagman flour sub did you use?
  16. It sounds like you've probably been glutened. What restaurant did you eat at? Was it a chain? If they commonly make sandwiches or fresh made donuts, breads, or bagels, there's a very high risk of cross contamination. Even one crumb in your soup could gluten you. As for an antidote, well, the only thing that helps me is Red Bull energy drinks. They give...
  17. When I'm making something from a glutenous recipe I ALWAYS use the following flour mix: 3 parts white rice flour, 2 parts potato starch, 1 part tapioca starch. Then, I add 3/4 to 1 teaspoon of xantham gum per cup of flour mix used in the recipe. I have had two recipes fail me using this blend out of hundreds of recipes tried. To be quite honest, I'm not sure...
  18. I take OneSource Prenatal. They are marked gluten free on the label and they are MUCH smaller than the prescription ones. The daily dosage is 2 and they are very inexpensive compared to some other brands that I've looked into. I get them at Wal-mart. Also, they contain 800% DV for pregnant women of Vitamin B6. I've noticed a significant improvement in my...
  19. The Z-pack is all my doctor will give me as she confirmed it's gluten free. As far as kids' medicines... I know that Little Noses is gluten free (for toddlers) and Little Coughs and the new Chloraseptic strips. I called on all of those a few months ago. Children's Tylenol meltaways grape flavor are also gluten free last time I checked. My daughter takes...
  20. I ended up making my own frosting because I just wasn't sure. It ended up turning out much better than canned frosting, though usually I have horrible luck with that sort of thing. The cupcakes are amazing!!! Here's the fried chicken recipe. I had posted it a while ago. They are WONDERFUL!!!
  21. Am I crazy or did Simon make a comment when the boy's performed about AJ's sexual preference? I may have just been reading way too much into things. Did anyone else catch it?
  22. I know that recipes have recently changed so I'm not sure which is gluten free. I bought Duncan Hines creamy homestyle vanilla and Pillsbury cream cheese icing. Neither had wheat or barley listed as an ingredient, but I bought two totally different kinds just to be sure. Anyone know which is safe? I'm making her cupcakes right now and we're serving them after...
  23. Yeah, Kelly totally looked like she had some work done... My hubby and I noticed that right away. I thought she looked great though. I mean, she was always pretty, but I think her new look gives her a very classic feel. I like that. There are far too many trashy women out there singing and being our kids' idols. I'd much rather someone sweet and innocent...
  24. Perhaps. Ya know though, I think it was probably a little crispy because I used oil to pat it down rather than flour. It was drying the dough out too much using flour and it was still sticking to my hands, so I just coated them with canola oil and patted it down like that. Funny, I've never even seen tapioca flour. In all my recipes though I use a mix of...
  25. Actually, the pizza is kind of crispy and DEFINITELY foldable. Strange, huh? I flattened mine quite a bit so maybe that's why it was crispy-ish. And, I might add, when I folded it it didn't even crack the crust underneath!!!
