Has anyone heard from Lister since this post? I was wondering how he was doing and how his ex's test results turned out.

I should have added in my first post that this recipe makes exactly TWO regular sized pizzas. I serve one and freeze the other. -

I just wanted to say that I use this pizza recipe every week for our pizza lunch days and it is fabulous! We haven't made another pizza recipe since you posted this. Thanks again. -

ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed With Celiac And Throwing A B-day Party
Guhlia replied to swinkler's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I would definitely just make one cake. This is one time when your son shouldn't have to feel "different". He will feel different at everybody else's birthday parties. He should at least be able to share cake with his friends at his own party. JMO. -

ARCHIVED Going Out On Dates And Eating Gout With Friends
Guhlia replied to basketballstar15's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Maybe your mom (or you) could put together a picnic lunch and the two of you could eat on a blanket. He might like this because it would save him money and he wouldn't have to do anything to prepare for it. Or, you could try to choose dates that don't involve food like movies, mini golf, bowling, etc. Cheeseburger in Paradise has a gluten free menu as well... -
ARCHIVED Puffs Plus W/ Lotion
Guhlia posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've been feeling slightly nauseous today and I can't figure out why. It's the usual Celiac nausea, but it could just be due to the pregnancy, who knows. Does anyone know if the vitamin E in Puffs Plus w/ Lotion tissues is derived from wheat? I have a nasty cold, so I've literally been carrying the box around with me and today it just kind of hit me like... -
ARCHIVED Just Found Out My 3 Yr Old Has Celiac. I Need Advice!
Guhlia replied to JennyC's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
He may be addicted to the gluten. That happens a lot of times with Celiacs pre-diagnosis. You may find that his taste opens up a bit once he's feeling much better. Pasta - Tinkyada Cereal - Dora Stars, Cocoa Pebbles, Fruity Pebbles, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einstein's Crackers - Schar or glutano Bread - Kinnikinnick white sandwich bread or Kinnikinnick... -
My Super Walmart carries Instead with the tampons and pads.

Wow, maybe i'll have to order a Diva Cup. I'm in love with my Instead, but something reuseable sounds much more economical.

ARCHIVED I Had Pancakes!
Guhlia replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sounds yummy! My family really enjoys the pancake recipe in The Incredible Edible Gluten Free Food For Kids cookbook (my gluten free bible). I also like to add blueberries. Yum! Also, I make a huge batch and add extra sugar and freeze them so that on busy mornings I can just heat two up and eat them on the run. The extra sugar makes syrup uneccessary. I... -

ARCHIVED Konjac Flour
Guhlia replied to Guhlia's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
So, the general consensus is that it's safe??? It is in a Kraft product and I imagine they'd list the gluten source if there were gluten. I just wanted to double check because I'd never heard of it before. -
Awww... Well, I'm glad I did something right today. It's been a heck of a day over this way too. Seriously though, you look great. I still can't remember what actress you look like though. Valda, I think you have to have over 500 posts to have a custom member title.
-
45?!?!?! You've got to be kidding!!! You look FABULOUS for 45!!! It's always nice to put a face with the name. You remind me of an actress... I can't think of who though. Perhaps it will come to me later.
-
I bought a Kraft product that contains konjac flour... It appears to be gluten free from articles online, but I wanted to check with you guys before I ate it. What do you think?
-
Wow, it was totally off for me, but the pictures were really neat... Made me think...

Thanks Patti. I actually did some snooping around online and found a few articles that linked Celiac and TMJ. I'm pretty sure that's what's going on after your description. Mine is also on the left right at the joint and then the pain travels down into my neck and up into my eye. It's never severe pain, but it's starting to wear me thin. I'm currently taking...

Is there any link between TMJ and Celiac? I have been having an aching pain in my jaw lately and I think it might be TMJ/TMD.

ARCHIVED Frozen Muffins Really Really Good, Bread Not So Much.
Guhlia replied to larry mac's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Larry, try freezing your bread on a plate and then bagging it after the bread has already frozen. This should eliminate your ice accumulation problem. As for using muffin dough for bread, I think it sounds like a great idea. I use a pizza dough recipe to make my hamburger buns and it turns out great. They're not exactly "real" hamburger rolls, but they... -
If you can, avoid pre-cooking. They stick together horribly and fall apart. They still taste great, but it makes assembly quite the process.

Which resort did you stay at? We were looking at some with food courts, but I didn't think they'd have gluten free food there so I opted for a cheaper hotel instead. -

Well, I guess that kind of depends on what affordable means to you... I think in Disney, two adult meals and a child's meal, we spent about $25 or less at lunch and about $40 at dinner, sometimes less. We had a night or two where we splurged and spent about $60 plus tip, but those were special nights out and you can certainly eat there for much less than...
