    Kathy 1, I live in Lee. I just found your support thread on the celiac.com forum. Since it was 5 years old, I figured this was the best route. I am FINALLY correctly diagnosed with celiac, but it's taken its toll. I gained weight - lots & uncontrollably - and 2 days ago learned I am into bottom of diabetes range. Still want a group?     It is for me. I have tested negative for celiac and MANY other things including dairy.     I want to be tested for food allergy's. What company do you recommend I go to? Since my DR doesnt believe in testing food allergys, I need to do this on my own.What foods should I get tested for? What company will provide testing on a larger number of possible food allergys? Thank you

    My husb has been eating Sami's Bakery poducts and really enjoys them. For the 1st time since going gluten-free, he enjoys a sandwich again. He eats the Millet & Flax bread, wraps, Hamburger and Hot dog rolls and he really loves the Pizza crust. The store cant keep these products in stock, as soon as they are delivered, the shelves are empty! Our problem...

    I think that some of this controversy may be a "CYA" approach, since no one wants to be held liable! My husband drinks Jim Beam and has no problems at all. In fact- his Dr raves about his results on the gluten-free diet, so it does not appear to be effecting him in any way.

I have resorted to buying most gluten-free items in bulk via the internet, but I have not had any success in finding a site that offers this at a savings. The lowest price I can find is around 2.99.     And how can it be purchased in bulk? I have only found it in multi packs at amazon .com. I believe it comes 6 packages to a case.

    I love Pamelas mix but it is very expensive- The best place I have found is amazon .com. saves dollars per bag....

    thats exactly what I have been saying since I discovered Pamelas. I use it all the time, just like you would use bisquick. Its fabulous.

    Walmart brand (copy of Centrum) vitamens. the pharmasist checked with the manufacturer. Much cheaper too!!

    My husb loves the Energ Wylde Pretzels. Says they are very close the "reg" pretzels and they do not cost $5 a bag.

    I tried making gluten-free Quiche crust for my celiac husband,but it was awful! Now I make my quiche crustless. It comes out exactly the same, but with no crust. I just spray the pan with oil and toss in my ingrediants. Very simple!

    The Christmas Tree Shop at the Holyoke Mall carries a variety of gluten-free products at bargain prices. For example- Blue Diamond Smokehouse almond nut thins are 2.89 at Wild oats and other such local health food stores, but everytime I go to the Christmas Tree Shops they sell the same thing for $1 a box.     I live in Adams ma which is about 1 hour northwest of Northampton. I love NH, there are sooo many shops right on Main st and they even stay open till 9pm or so on a saturday night. We go to our Favorite restaurant"Spilettos" on main st on new years eve and then hit the shops till 9pm when the close. There is a Trader Joes and Wholefoods in Hadley Ma.They...

    Thank you so much for taking the time to post all of this useful information. It must have been wonderful to talk to someone that was so well informed. I am finding that even the local doctors know little about celiac disease. Thanks again and I have said a prayer for you!!

    I am going to Cambridge Ma this weekend to see the Star Wars exhibit at the Boston Musuem of Science. We are staying at a hotel next to the musuem. Does anyone know of a family restaurant that has gluten free menu options? We don't want to to travel too far from the hotel. Maybe something we could even walk to?     I made the mistake of signing onto this sight when I was 1st researching celiac disease. It has no free info and only tries to get you to pay for a membership. I say skip it.....the free boards like this one is all you need.

    Since most of us will not exceed the 7.5% of income to claim our medical expenses, the flexable spending acctount is the way to go. You have to get a letter from the Dr that gluten-free food is medically necessary. Then you can put in a claim for the "extra" you spend on the gluten-free food. Plus the money in the Flex acct in not taxable, so it is a double...
