    take care..

  2. Just thought I would add my two cents! I've been gluten-free for 5 years. In the first year I had to stay away from soy as the protein was too similar to gluten. I also had to really watch what was coming in the house, my family did not go gluten-free. If someone makes a sandwich on the counter, and you come in later and make a gluten-free one, then some...
  3. If I am having gas I take phazyme. They seem to really help. I also take pepcid AC if it's more sour stomach. I drink lots of fluids, it helps to wash out the system.
  4. For me i get similar reactions, but they aren't from gluten... If i start to feel sick with the headache, then I know it's gluten. I get the horrible gas when I consume bean flours or sorghum flour. I don't know why. Apparently the damage done to my intestines make those flours harder to breakdown. I have found that phazyme seems to work for me on controlling...
  5. Hi! I posted the granola bars under a new topic! Let me know what you think!
  6. I agree. It took at least a year for my villi to "reactivate" after becoming gluten-free. If I accidently eat something with gluten, I have problems for at least 2 weeks after the incident. It is better to avoid the gluten!
  7. Just for my take on this... I think you should try the gluten free oats and see how you feel. Maybe try them on a weekend when you don't have to be any where. I have been gluten-free for at least 5 years, and I have always been able to eat them. Everybody is different. That's why it is important to try things and see how you react to them. As for the...
  8. I just finished testing this recipe and it is delicious! Let me know what you think! Open Original Shared Link

  14. Hi and welcome! I usually get my symptoms with in a couple of hours of consuming gluten. It is usually "D" and intense intestinal pain. I then have a headache the next day. It's been a while since i got sick.... but I make all my own food, and never eat fast food or processed.
  15. Hi! I hope that all this helps... I have to agree with all the others and also add that if I eat too many Stax, I get sick also, so that may be something that you should try to avoid and see how you feel. Also, if you were sick for a while before diagnosis, your body is very used to not having to deal with the digestion and distribution of your food...
  16. Hi... we moved to NC about 6 months ago, and I have had alot of gastro problems ever since. It has finally gotten to the point that I need to see a doc. But since I am new to the area... I have no idea who to go to. I am hoping that someone will have a doc in the New Bern/ Raleigh area in NC, who is familiar with Celiac and hopefully is well versed with...
  17. I've made a delicious pecan encrusted tilapia.... basically you just need really fine ground pecans, salt and pepper... roll the fish in the pecans, cook in a skillet with a little olive oil, when first side is browned, flip and then place in a 375 oven for about 10 minutes.... done! And it really is good. Lollie
  18. Lisa!!!!! I will help in any way possible! Lollie

  21. Prior to going gluten-free I was diagnosed over and over with ulcers, always after the endoscope confirmed my doc's diagnosis.... They always said I was too young for all that, but yet I had them. I personally believe that the gluten was keeping my stomach and intestines "roughed up". I know that now that I am gluten-free, 2 years later, I am alot better...
  22. Does anyone know if there is a connection to gluten and asthma? My daughter is about 75% gluten-free and starting the 1st she will go totally gluten-free ( I already am). We found out earlier this year that she has asthma, and she has alot of constipation, and she tends to be very moody.... Just wondering if any of you have experience with any of this...
  23. Just wanted to tell you that I completely relate to this.... My little girl just got a virus (Christmas Eve of course....) I was completely shakey, I find it hard to even function.... I get that way just from the news of someone, whom I have had no contact, coming down with a stomach virus.... It is a very hard way to live... And then with Celiac and...
  24. Hi all... My husband and i went to NYC over Christmas and I was in awwww of all the wonderful gluten-free places to eat. One in particular, had the best bread.....When we inquired if they made it them selves or if a local bakery made it, the owner told us that he gets it from Canada, but wouldn't give us the name or company.... So my question is, do any...
  25. Hi I have a question.... I am thinking of getting the gene's tests done since I have two little girls. From what I read on the site, Entrolab, if I have 2 genes then I definantly have passed one on to the girls..... Is that correct? I am only considering getting the test so that I know if i should or not get my daughters tested.... I don't want them...
