ARCHIVED How Could I Have Done It
Lollie replied to taz sharratt's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Don't beat yourself up....I did the same thing one day when I was making cupcakes for my daughters class. I was using the canned frosting, pinched for time , and when I was done I just started licking my fingers. I was so sick that evening and the next day. It happens, and you pay for it in pain. No need to add to it with anything else! Feel Better... -
ARCHIVED What's With Kraft?!?
Lollie replied to JSmith's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
They are really great if you call them! I had to call because I had bought some of the Jell-O pudding cups for my kids and they were extremely helpful! They were gluten-free! I recommend just giving them a call! Lollie -
Yep----absolutely! I think that is harder for me then the rest! I love malt and it's in most rice cereals and nearly every thing I really liked before! But I would rather stay away from malt then stay sick! Good Luck! Lollie

ARCHIVED Question About Muscle Spasms.....
Lollie replied to Lollie's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks Patti! That info was quite helpful and I guess I do have FM, I hate it when my mom is right!!!!! That little diagram of the neck and upper back has all the spots on it that are sore on me! I guess I always thought that you are supposed to be tired when you are raising kids! And the info about the stops in deep sleep are particularly interesting... -
ARCHIVED Question About Muscle Spasms.....
Lollie replied to Lollie's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
It always hits me in my neck. It started a couple of years ago. I didn't know what was happening. I was a little stressed, trying to get everything ready for Halloween and I have two kids which, well, keeps you at a certain level of stress! I was shaking up a cup of chocolate milk and bam! I couldn't turn my head without intense sharp pain. Went to... -
ARCHIVED Question About Muscle Spasms.....
Lollie replied to Lollie's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My mom said maybe it's fibermyalgia. She has it and since my muscles get all knotted, she thinks it might be the same thing! Lollie -
ARCHIVED Noticed Foot Knot/tenderess On Instep At Massage
Lollie replied to lindalee's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had a massage in May and a pedicure and a manicure. The lady was an excellent reflexolgist and she pin pointed all my chronic pain spots immidiately. I was impressed. I think that the thought is that your nervous system is inter-related. When one area is constantly in pain, there is other places (ie feet and hands) where that pain can be massaged, since... -
Does any one know if muscle spasms are a related disorder to Celiac? Not that it matters, but I like to keep a tab of what all celiac has done to me!!!!! I tend to have my neck and back go out and have some pretty intense pain. I keep a bottle of muscle relaxers to knock it out when it starts, but I still have it for about a week. It's a real pain...

Thanks Patti. I hope everything continues to go well for you. In my mom's case, she hadn't had a period in 5 years. I think that is why they thought it was cancer. But, luckily it wasn't and pretty easy to correct. I will definantly check your link. I keep thinking, if it's not one thing it's another! I guess I will have to talk to my obgyn and see...

Thanks ya'll! Are fibroids anything like cycsts? I ask because my doc had once told me I probably had ovarian cysts, that would just go away. I was having alot of pain and they tested me for everything under the sun and then came up with that. I have the pains from time to time, sometimes bad sometimes just a little. My mother has already gone through...

Hi all. I did do some research and it seems like hormones can definantly be affected by gluten. Now that we absorb nutrients better, maybe the hormones will come back up. I was especially interested in a topic from another site where they were talking about low levels of testosterone being a culprit to lots of things, including fatigue and painful periods...

I started this post because my periods have definantly changed. I have always had a very quick cycle, 21-27 day cycle, with a full 7 days of bleeding. I always had 1 day right before I started that was PMS x 10. But only that one day was like that and then I would start and everything was fine. No cramping, no clots. Now I get a full week of PMS, I'm...

Well I'm glad to know I am not losing my mind!!!! I thought I might be pregnant...that's the only time I have ever had an increase in breast size! Now I can add deflated boobs to the list of what celiac did to me! Thanks for the replies! I forget to turn to you all, then remember that I have this wonderful network of understanding individuals to...

ARCHIVED Outer Banks And My gluten-free 3 Year-old
Lollie replied to wonkabar's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Hi, just got back from the OBX!!!!! We stayed in Avon. There was a little grocery store there, just north of the Food Lion. They had all the gluten free flour mixes (ie Bob's Red Mill). I was really impressed that they had it. We ate out at the Froggy Dog and they had some safe choices, the menu did not state gluten free, but they were. Also on Ocracoke... -
I was going to offer up my advice about the lasagna recipe.....I use the rice noodle lasagna noodles and I don't cook them first. I just make sure there is a lot of sauce. It turns out great and the noodles don't turn to mush like they had when I cooked them first! Hope you are feeling better and that it continues!!!!! Lollie
