I just got off the phone with the company that makes my generic version on Pepcid and they said that the generic does contain gluten! Regular brand does not. Man! That means that the worse I've been feeling, the more med I took, the worse the gluten intake..... Sometimes I think this is all ridiculous..... And to top it all off, my mom called...

Thanks ChelsE! I'm going to try something real plain in a minute, maybe applesauce or cottage cheese. Sorry to hear your feeling bad again. I was doing probiotics, then I just stopped, I just forgot about them. They did seem to be helping, though. I did take some Pepcid AC. I didn't even look into it to see if it was gluten free. If that's it I...

Hi all! I posted last week about getting glutened last week on Tuesday. Well I was up the last two nights sicker then I've been in quite some time. I really have no idea why. I always have had gastric problems, all of my life, ulcers, gastritus, IBS, ect..... When I went gluten-free it was a complete turn around in my health. No more meds, no acid reflux...

ARCHIVED Scared And Need Support Please
Lollie replied to ebrbetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, Betty, let me to be someone who can say I completely understand! I have been gluten-free for 4 months. I was horribly sick for years, and it had progressively gotten worse. I finally went to my doc and asked for the testing. My tests came back inconclusive. I went gluten-free anyway, I couldn't take the pain anymore. I felt incredibly better.... -
That's what I was afraid of! I figured it must get worse with time..... Jenvan- I haven't looked into the DH, because I rarely have any kind of a rash. And this doesn't seem to be the same thing as what I've seen pictured and discribed. But, if it persists...... JerseyAngel- That is what my rash is like. It is mostly on my torso (especially my...

Does any one get a small itchy rash all over after eating gluten? I was glutened on Tuesday and have been itchy ever since.... Also, I've been gluten free for about four months and I have been very careful, and lucky, and haven't been glutened since the very first few weeks, until now. The question is, do the side effects of the gluten get more severe...

welcome, Eve!!!!! I know how you feel.....I have my own rant posting ....... I just try to keep positive. I come here to let it all out- feel free to do the same! I think the letter is a good idea- it seems like so many people I have explained it to still just don't get it. If you gave out a letter with numbered points, when they asked you...

You know I hadn't thought of it like that- the cancer part. I lost my dad in Sept. to cancer, and my mom was mean alot while he was getting his treatment. It always made me mad, but now I can kind of understand it. Denial......I wish I had that- I tend to live in reality all the way. I do think that my DH does have a hard time dealing sometimes- his...

Thanks ya'll! I'm feeling much better. I think that my DH was just worried about me- he tends to get snappy and frustrated when he is really worried. I was definantly glutened- I didn't even think about worschester (sp?) sauce. But I looked it up and yep! Bingo- gluten. I know my mom uses it on beef no matter what. And I know what brand she swears...

I'm pretty sure he meant paranoid. I figure he's having a tough time too. He watched me decline for 10 years, and at the beginning of this year I was so sick and under weight, well it scared me too. I guess I just hoped for more from him. I mean, I just want him to be my shoulder to cry on sometimes- but hey, that's what I have you guys for! Right?!...

Hi all! I typically try to stay very positive in my approach to this disease, but I'm having a hard time right now. I try not to take all this too seriously. What I mean by that, is that when some one forgets what I can eat or makes a slip, I just let it roll off. I don't worry so much about what other people think, or how they might treat me unkindly...

ARCHIVED Quick Fix (nulev) Does It Really Work?
Lollie replied to DarcyandMike's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I took Nu-Lev for years orally. It worked, but then they gave me the under the tongue one. I didn't react very well. It just didn't work for me. I now take Flexaril which is a muscle relaxer. I find it works well but knocks me out, so I only use it when I have to. But I get back spasms too, so I just use the same thing. Your a good guy! Lollie -
Hi Megan! I think that alot of us have had to deal with the insensitive family/sig. other.....It's crumby, but it seems to be some what normal. I think that if they haven't had to deal with this kind of pain, they don't really get it. I will share with you what I've done with my mom and others in my family. I try to only talk about success with the diet...

Good Luck ChelsE!!!!!! I hope you get the info you need! Just a side bar, but my brother and his G F gave up their little girl at birth, is there anyway to put our names out there in case she wants to find us? She would be about 20 now. Lollie -
Monica, Thanks. It's so nice to know that some one cares! I have two little girls, 3 and 5. I was home schooling until dad died and then I just couldn't focus on it at all. I didn't want my daughter, who is very bright and alert and attentive, to get caught up with my sadness. So I found a really good private school in my area, and it's only half...

I'm so sorry to hear all of the emotional problems you all have had......but, I 'm a little glad you guys shared! I thought it was just me. I do the same things. I am real happy, totally in control for a while, then BAM out of no where I'm either in tears or yelling and angry or both. I had these symptoms prior to the diet, and I had hoped that going...

I so sorry that you are feeling so bad! I went through that recently, but have somehow come out of it on top. I feel greatful to have a disease that is corrected with food, although I still have tinges when I see the Krispi Kreme or convinience foods I love, but know that I can't have. I just try to remember that I was beyond sick just 3 months ago. I...

I love mine! I got it over 10 years ago but it still looks great! I have a birth mark on my hip. So I had a sunflower designed, that used the birth mark as it's center! I love it still! Yeah, she eats really well. She loves dairy, cheese, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese..... And meat has always been one of her favorites, but lately she has found out that animals are meat and she no longer wants to eat it due to cruelness issues. She is very sensitive, emotionally. But she does eat two servings of a good meat source daily, I have to sneak...

I thought I would add: I hate the letter C in the english language- I mean really, it makes the sound of a K or of an S.....so is it really necessary? And try teaching that to a 5 year old. Lollie
