  1. I tend to have pretty low blood pressure, I try not to get up too quickly and stuff like that. Do you have hypoglycemia? Sometimes I get the light headedness and seeing stars if my blood sugar is too low. Just a thought. We had a posting earlier this week about the hypoglycemia link. I know that as one of the tendencies for Celiac, is to have low...
  2. Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe me I'd rather eat some yogurt, then have to do the counter measures for the yeast infection! But that's just me....... Lollie
  3. Have you looked into other brands of ricotta? I recently made a really good lasagna and I used an all natural ricotta and I didn't have any trouble. Vinegar wasn't listed as an ingrediant! Just a thought! Lollie
  4. Thanks for the info. I have always eaten yogurt when I take antibiotics, and now I make my little girls eat it too. I let ya'll know if the yogurt for a two week trial works! I prefer to get what I need from food instead of suppliments, I just hate taking pills! Lollie
  5. I'm glad your feeling better!!!!! I am having pizza for the first time since gluten-free tonight! I like the idea that we are all in company!!!!! I'm glad that things are working out for you-God is good! I always get messed up when I forget that, or forget to ask Him for some help and guidance! Enjoy your weekend! Lollie
  6. I have a question too! I saw a commercial about probiotics being in yogurt, I bought some at whole foods. The claim is give them a try for two weeks, and they are supposed to regulate your digestion..... Anybody know anything about that? I thought it can't hurt! Lollie
  7. Have you been tested for diabetes? I know that thirst, and thirst like what your talking about, at night, can sometimes be a symptom. I hope you are able to get some relief. I know how uncomfortable it is to have things not working properly! Lollie
  8. Thanks, I was thinking maybe there is some gluten in my bathing products or something.... I don't know. Did you do anything for them or did they just go away? Lollie
  9. Now that we're onto chicken fried stuff, any one ever try dredging your meat in the all purpose flour, and then in parmesian cheese, then fry? It is so good! The cheese gets real crispy and it has a grat flavor! It's good on eggplant, like for eggplant parm! Or on veggies like zuchini or mushrooms for an appetizer! And sometimes I'll through alittle...
  10. Okay, here goes..... Is it possible to have the HD skin rash, after going gluten-free? I always had all the GI problems, still do sometimes but, the gluten-free diet has cleared up alot of my digestive problems, but now I have a rash all over my torso. It is small red bumps that look like they my be full of water or puss and itch, until you touch...
  11. Now that sounds good! Maybe I will try my hand at some chicken and dumplins tonight.....I was trying to come up with something for dinner! I 'm in the south and I love dumplins!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing! Lollie
  12. I was reading through your post and I had a few thoughts. I have a terrible time with C. I ususally get C for a couple of days, then can't stop going and it ends with D. I personally have decided to take nothing. I was on so much stuff before I found out about celiac, I decided when I started the diet that I would not take any meds or suppliments. So...
  13. I just wanted to share my version of mac and Cheese! I make homemade! I always liked the real stuff best anyway! I make the rice pasta and put it in a casserole dish. Then I make a baschemel sauce using red Mills all purpose flour and butter, then add the milk and grated cheddar cheese.....bake it till golden brown and bubbly!!!!Tastes just like my grandma...
  14. I'm doing the same thing. Iwent gluten-free about 2 months ago. I am hungry all the time. I seem to snack alot. But before I went gluten-free I was never hungry. I also lost weight. I was told it is kind of the Palm Beach diet effect. It should level out. I go through stages of starving, then days when I don't really want anything. I guess it all...
  15. I love to bake too! I decided I was not going to give up baking because I had to give up gluten. I have been using mixes as well, but I love my bread. Its way better then that frozen bread that's all you can get commercially. It is Bob's red Mill bread mix. I put it in the bread machine and follow the directions. I think it's just like regular bread...
  16. I get dizzy and faintish (if that's a word!) when my blood sugar is low. Are you hypoglycemic? It's just a thought! -Lollie
  17. Welcome Sarah! You are always free to ask or say whatever you need to! That is what makes this board so great! Good Luck! Lollie
  18. I'm sorry your having such a hard time with your family. I know how it feels for your family to just sit back and hope you fail....my family took bets on how long I would make it at college! Luckily I won that bet! I finished! My point is that you have to go gluten-free for yourself, not for the family and with or without their support, even though...
  19. I've been buying the rice crispies that have a Koala on them and I make my own rice crispie trats from them.....I always liked them though!!!!!!! I have noticed that I am always hungry now. Used too, I never felt hungry at all. I chalk it up to healing!!! I ask my husband all the time, "So this is what it's like to be hungry, I had forgotten the feeling...
  20. Hey Vincent, Sorry all of ya'll are feeling bad! Both of my little girls did the cold then pink eye thing last week, and now my littlest is still getting over the goopy eye! Luckily, of all the germs floating around out there, pink eye is at least treatable and doesn't involve the fever! Hope your feeling better soon, too! Judy, you have...
  21. I think my doctor must be genetically related to the one that thinks celiacs need to beware of cerery! Lollie Thanks for the smile, I could use it today!
  22. Wow! I had no idea that all this was quite this difficult! I just appreciate all the input. For the record I believe the soda I drank had malt. I think it is made in Jamaca. It's called Vita-Malt. I like it so much cause it tastes like bread and you get all your vitamins at the same time. But, like I said, I knew I shouldn't drink it when I did it...
  23. hey Picard, There is a list of forbidden foods and a list of okay foods on this site. I didn't think to make a link, but it is really helpful to get those. Elye, I don't know what to believe any more. I have the list that was on the site, it listed maltodextrin on forbidden, but sais if manufactured in North America, it was gluten-free. But I...
  24. Not all soda is off, just the ones that contain ingredients derived from wheat. Like maltodextrin- the soda I wanted had this and it was imported from somewhere other than the US, it also has malt which is on the forbidden list. That's probably why it tastes so good! Dr. pepper and Coke are still okay. You just have to read labels and see what's in them...
