    ARCHIVED Pnuemonia?

Thanks! That article was very interesting. I don't know if I have Celiac or not. I went to my GP, she referred me to my GI, he did a huge amount of blood work, I had an upper GI with biopsy, and a colonoscopy with biopsy. I got a sheet of paper in the mail, saying my report was good, come back in 3 months. This doc, said he would definitively find out...
  4. Nancy, I understand your angst! I hate alot of the same things you do! I hate cancer- my dad died less then 6 months ago. I also hate feeling as though I've been dropped like a hot potatoe (that's my saying, hehehe!!) And I definantly hate having to draw attention to myself when out to eat! I happen to be pretty strong, if I don't say so myself...

    ARCHIVED Pnuemonia?

Thanks to all! She always starts with a typical flu/cold that lasts for more than a week, with an increased cough. Then when you think she is over it, bam 104-105 fever and horrible cough that makes her throw up. I think she might have Celiac, because she doesn't gain weight (her little sister weighs almost as much as she does), she has alot of trouble...
  7. Okay, I don't know if this is completely out of the realm of possibility, but my brain started thinking and..... I've been trying to decide if my daughter is gluten intolerent or not. And I've been looking at alot of factors, and I was wondering if there is any research or if any of you know, does gluten intolerence relate to the occurance of pnuemonia...
  8. I get ate alive all summer! But then again, I do live in Texas......everything bites you down here! But I do get bit more then everybody else-other then my little girl-they eat her like candy too! Lollie
  9. Actually, I am in the same type of cycle. I don't believe that the problem is glute, I think it takes a while for the intestines to start working as they should. I have been gluten-free for about 3 months, which I know is not long, but I have noted a marked difference in my bowels. I used to only have D. Now I seem to be slightly regular, then C, then...
  10. Hi Mary! I wanted to reply for a few reasons: 1. You said you are haveing heart palps at night, well my mom has them to the point of heart attack but has suffered with them for years in the form of not so bad, she recently did a sleep study and found out she has sleep apnea, which causes the palps. It might be worth looking into. 2. Your energy level...
  11. I wanted to say thanks for sharing this article. I too, sent it to all my family and friends as a testiment to what celiac does to you emotionally! Lollie
  12. Thanks! My girls take those everday, princess style of course! I never even thought about it for my own use! I'll give it a try! Lollie
  13. My husband is on top of my diet all the time. If I go to eat something he doesn't know what it is, he'll ask if its gluten-free. Sometimes I want to just throw the food on him, but deep inside I know he does it because he cares for me and has seen how sick I can get. I bet those in your life are trying to be helpful and only care for your health. Don...
  14. Hi! Sorry you have had such a bad time! I relate, just as everyone else has already said. I have been gluten-free for only a short period, but after 10 years of illness, these last few months have been an answered prayer. I don't know what I would do without my husband (he Dx me correctly, not a doc). I think if your BF had a better education as to what...
  15. I wanted to ask my own question along the same lines as the original post.....Are the vitamins that important? I only ask because I have a horrible time digesting them. I always have had trouble for some reason, with vitamins. I try to eat a really healthy diet, lots of fruit and vegies. But, I notice most seem to take them. If they are really necessary...
  16. I'm sorry you are feeling so bad! I know how you feel about not wanting to eat anything at all, I have definately been there for a big part of my life! I have only been gluten-free for a little over 2 months, I'm feeling pretty well, I hope it continues.......but who knows! I don't cook gluten in my house at all. I have 2 kids and husband who can have...
  17. When I'm making anything fried i have a basic recipe. I use my gluten-free flour, mix som parmesian cheese in it, add salt and pepper. Then I get whatever I am going to fry roll it in beaten eggs then bread it in the mixture. Sometimes I put it back in the egg wash and then roll it again in the breading! Fry it up! I also like to do the same thing...
  18. I know that I feel better on warm sunny days. I feel awful when it is cloudy and cold for too long a period of time. I had done some research into the corelation between sun light and depression. I know that when I feel really bad and sick to my stomache, I can almost garuntee I'm depressed too. I know that you can sit in the sun and it really helps with...
  19. I can totally relate to you! I am 5'9' and got down to 110. I got very scared. I lost weight when I started the diet. but now I find that I have gained about 20lbs and I eat little snacks all day! i agree that it will take some time to allow your body to heal and it will take time to stretch your stomache back to a more normal size. I think I just...
  20. I felt compelled to share here! I had alot of trouble with my family and my inlaws, for years. I haven't been able to eat hardly anything for 10 years. Everyone decided I was anarexic, for weight issues. That wasn't it at all. I became anarexic due to the fact that everything I ate went straight through and made me sick. I never could get that through...
  21. I know that there are alot of recipe's ot there for banana bread but this one really turned out well! I looked into several different versions and picked and chose between them and came up with this one! I have no other intolerences, other than gluten- so it does have eggs and dairy! Anyway, I hope you like this one! Gluten-Free Banana Bread ...
  22. I do all my dishes together! I think as long as your using soap and water, and really getting your dishes clean, I think, you should be fine!!! So far so good for me! And I do use a spnge, I also always use bleach in my dish water! Lollie
  23. I think I missed something, What was the question? Lollie
  24. To tell the truth, I can't be of any real help here! I'm not sure why I'm writting! But I wanted to say that I was supposed to go back to see my doc, about a month ago, but after his complete disinterest during testing I decided that I was doing a better job changing my diet and doing my own research! Maybe its not the best decision, BUT...... it seems...
  25. I don't know.......I was concerned about traveling and I posted, which Jenvan mentioned previous. I found it incredibly easy. I packed alot of my own food. Lara bars, my favorite nut thins, and dried nut and fruit mix. I had a frig put in the room. I bought yogurt and other parishibles once I arrived. I had the best vacation in 10 years. I always thought...
