  1. I used to eat peanut butter and miracle whip sandwiches as a kid too! I never heard of anyone else that did that. Now it sounds pretty gross....but it was yummy then! I also love (still) peanut butter and butter sandwiches. I would bring them to school and some of the kids thought that it was peanut butter and potatoes! I might be strange but not...
  2. This is strange. I have been trying to not eat any foods with gluten for the past week (I say try because it is hard figuring out what has gluten in it). I have the same symtoms as you...my stools are much lighter and float more.
  3. I don't know about the green health drinks. My son loves them and I don't want him to have to give them up if he has Celiac. I thought that Celiacs couldn't have wheat grass so I'm surprised that they are gluten free. Is it because the wheat isn't dried and cooked? Does that make a difference?
  4. My son started on solids at around 6 months but didn't really eat much (besides breastmilk) until around 15 months. He got most of his calories from breastmilk. Breastmilk has more calories than most solids you could give her right now anyway. You could also freeze some breastmilk in an ice cube tray (only half full so they aren't too big) and then give...
  5. Makes sense to me. My son has a huge appetite and he was under the 5% percentile at his last appointment. I hope he gains some weight when he goes on the gluten-free diet. Good luck!
  6. That is great news! I hope my son will start gaining weight once we start on the diet.
  7. I have had Geographic Tongue for years. Sometimes it doesn't bother me and sometimes it feels like my tongue is has ulcers on it. One strange thing is that wheat bread used to bother me as a child. I told my mom that it made my tongue itch. She thought I was just trying to get out of eating my bread, but she brought it up again when I said I was getting...
  8. We love these vitamins. They taste just like gummy bears! My son begs for them. I have to keep them up really high so he can't get to them. It is tempting to eat more than two. How many can adults have?
  9. Thanks for everyone's replies. He doesn't have any of the other symptoms of diabetes (like more thirst or more urine), so I don't really think he has that. I'm going to mention it to the doctor though. I am getting tested for Celiac and I'm going to have the kids tested too. I'm going to buy some of the strips and test him myself. Since he isn't potty...
  10. I have had circles under my eyes my whole life. I'm not sure if I have Celiac yet, but I'm kind of hoping I do since I will know what is wrong with me. I don't know if I can take years of trying to find out what is wrong. My DS also has dark circles under his eyes, but you can't see them as much because his skin is a little darker than mine.
  11. I know this might sound strange, but my son has sweet smelling breath a lot. My DD has it sometimes too, but usually only when she is sick. I tried to research what could cause it, but the only thing I could find was diabetes. I really don't think he has that since he doesn't have any other symptoms. I'm going to make an appointment for him, but I just...
  12. There are some really good rice crackers that are gluten-free. I bought them a couple times before I ever though any of us had Celiac because I like the way they taste. DS (who is 2) really liked them too. I don't remember the name of them though....sorry. I bought them at Whole Foods.
  13. thanks, You guys are right. I need to call his doctor soon. I asked my doctor if I should get my kids tested and he said to wait to see what my results are first. My mom said that I should just put them both on a gluten-free diet to see if it helps them at all. DD doesn't really have any symptoms besides leg cramps, but she is very addicted to wheat...
  14. Thanks everyone! He was in the 25% for weight for a while, but now he has dropped down to the 5%. His doctor wanted me to come back in a couple of months (at his last appt.) to see if his weight has gone up at all. I didn't bring up the wheat intolerance because I didn't even think of it then. I thought his shortness might have something to do with his...
  15. I am new to this board, but I have been lurking for about a week or so. I am getting tested for wheat intolerance because of all the stomach/intestinal problems (plus a bunch of other symptoms) I have been having. I was wondering about the symptoms for wheat intolerance/Celiac disease in toddlers. I was wondering if my son could have it too because of...
