  4. I just looked up the Milky Way, and malted barley was NOT on the ingredient list. Did they change their recipe, or did they just leave it out? And the allergy statement for the Twix Bar doesn't mention wheat, even though it IS on the ingredient list!!!! It just says, "may contain peanuts." WHat about WHEAT, for heaven's sake???????

  7. I do both! I use it in a recipe to make home-made Bisquick, but I've found it needs extra baking powder and extra milk. For some reason, it works a lot better when the batter is a whole lot stickier than what you'd see with gluten flour.   9. Ali8, you are quite right, but, unfortunately, the insurance company sees the concurrence of celiac and other autoimmune conditions, AND the fact that lymphoma is a sort of end-stage of celiac, so they see celiac as being extremely high-risk.
  10. It's hard to say whether it was a reaction to the Barilla or whether you had a virus. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to try the Barilla again and see if you have the same response--and it's certainly understandable if you don't want to try that again!

  18. You might be reacting to your deodorant/antiperspirant, and it may or may not be DH. I react to a deoderant that as far as can see does not contain gluten, but it does contain hops (which I thought were gluten-free). And some deodorants do contain oat or wheat-derived ingredients, like wheat germ oil.
