  1. i have been loving bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits lately using grandma feronda's hamburger buns...they taste biscuit like...yum! just slap some scrambled egg, some bacon strips, and a slice of cheese and then microwave to melt it all together...it tastes a lot like mcd's biscuits to me my hubby even wants to try the buns cuz they smell so good to him...
  2. wow...i actually really like annie's...its just a matter of getting the noodles soft enough, and making sure to use enough milk and butter...my only problem is the last time i ate them, i felt like i had been glutened angie
  3. my liver enzymes are slightly high...i had them tested when i was being tested for PCOS (which I have)...they had to test me before i could do any kind of fertility treatment...and we have not been able to figure out why they were slightly elevated...celiac had never occured to me...i dont have an "official" diagnosis of celiac...but i do most likely have...

  6. i love the pamela's baking mix for my pancakes...and my hubby eats them too...and i still get to use my special technique that i learned from one of my friend's moms...add a cap full of clear soda to the mix, it makes the pancakes really fluffy angie
  7. now if only i liked cocoa flavored cereal but thats terrific...i'm pretty sure i found the gluten-free trix the other day at target...i didnt buy any cuz i wanted to make sure that GM would actually list wheat/gluten if there was any...but according to the box they are clean with the exception of natural flavors i think... angie
  8. you're welcome! i read it over the thanksgiving holiday when i was debating making a green bean casserole...but being sick and pregnant, and having only my hubby and i as ones to eat it, i didnt bother this year...but i think i will this next year...i just love funyuns...its my onion ring substitute right now until i have the energy to make some real ones...
  9. use funyuns (sp?)...the junk food onion flavored things...those are gluten free and will give you the crunch and the onion flavor angie
  10. you know, until i found the whole foods bread, i didnt eat bread either cuz i couldnt stand any of the others i tried...so i used tostito style chips and ate my egg salad or chicken salad with those...it was cheaper, and it worked angie
  11. whole foods gluten-free bakery makes a decent bread...i use the sandwich bread all the time (the white bread)...i have found that if you keep it in the fridge it stays good for like a month, whereas the pantry only keeps it good for a few days ...so then i nuke the bread for a few seconds to get it soft again, or i toast it in the toaster oven. i think...
  12. thanx for all the good advice. i know i will have a wonderful support network for breastfeeding, and everything else in general...my mom never did, but thats cuz i was adopted...but she works in birth and family services at the hospital i will be delivering at, and i have grown up there (she's been there for 30 years!) and i know if i need it she will hook...
  13. i think i am going to really try not to introduce gluten into my baby's life until he is old enough to understand that mommy cant have it....i dont want to prepare glutened foods, and i know once he becomes a toddler, they like to "feed" mommies their food...and i dont want to have to tell him no until he can kinda grasp why. my hubby supports me on this...
  14. outback was actually the first restaurant i ate at after going gluten-free...they were wonderful...i did think however that the veggies were a little bland...i wont be getting those again...but we went there for my birthday a year ago (this year we went to biaggi's )...and i had the filet...and then was sooooooooo pleasantly surprised that the brownie there...
  15. I just finished a breast feeding class in prep for our new arrival in a month or so, and got some info that i thought i'd share. i asked the question whether or not food intolerances/avoiding certain foods would affect the nutrients that our baby would get through breast milk. they wont by the way....but what we did learn through the instructor's reference...
  16. i cant stand the vans waffles...i think they taste like cardboard. for the pamela's cookies i like the choc chunk with walnut...those rock...especially with some choc milk. but honestly for cookies, nothing beats the whole foods gluten-free bakery choc chip...yummmmmm! angie

  18. i use delmonte or regular contadina (not the spiced one) with no problems. angie
  19. i agree with the pamela's cookies...yum! but even better are the whole foods gluten free bakehouse cookies...they're pricy, so i only get them once in awhile as a treat...but they rock! i also have been on a potato chips and dip kick, and a beef jerky kick (i'm 8 months pregnant) i do lay's potato chips and dean's ranch dip. and then for beef...
  20. so we have a store in madison called "u-bake" and they have gluten free items...i went in there today to check it out, and came home with hot dog buns, hamburger buns, donut holes, and waffles...so far i have tried the hot dog buns -which were pretty decent, and then the donut holes...oh my gosh, i thought i died and went to heaven...they're heavy like a...
  21. my keytones are high everytime i go to the midwife...i am due in a month...i have taken the glucose test 3 times (i have PCOS and am predisposed to gestational diabetes) and have passed every time. i am also drinking so much liquid in a day (like at least 12 cups of something)..so we have just been writing it off as i am just prone to reading as dehydrated...
  22. i asked for everything in my email cuz i use all their products exclusively (although not anymore it looks like), and seeing as they included makeup in this list, i cant imagine they didnt include lotions...that would be odd. the ingredient list on the hand cream looks fine...i use it all the time. angie
  23. its been awhile since i needed dairy intolerance info (turns out i was only gluten intolerant, not dairy at all), and now i have a friend who thinks her daughter is dairy intolerant and i want to guide her to some helpful websites. can you guys recommend any please? i really need to get her a list of "buzz words" that mean dairy in labeling...i used to...
