  1. LYNN----YOU DEAR LADY, I HATE THAT YOU MUST WRITE SUCH A MESSAGE. Know that there is love coming your way and hope for you to get a tiny little bit better each and every day. I pray for your DH and DD so that they can have understanding toward you. You make all of us better people when we read your message. You have my deepest concern and love, Barbara
  2. Tiffany.......after reading all the love on this thread, I was feeling so good and wanted to add to it until I got to your addition and it sent me back to the I Hate thread.
  3. I HATE that after reading all that LOVE (WOW, there sure were some good ones) on the "l LOVE, I LOVE, I LOVE" thread and thinking that I would add to it, I got to the end and found that Tiffany and a couple of others were cutting on me after I had apologized on the I HATE thread. I was feeling so good after reading all those I Love things, I was thinking...
  4. BOY, I GUESS YOU TOLD ME. Sorry, I was so judgemental. I am not usually like that, in fact my mom is and I have been working so hard on not doing that to other people. LESSON LEARNED. Hope you see this, young lady. I am not so young, but I AM a lady. Just found out when I was 59 that I was gluten intolerant and I have to agree there are times when I...
  5. My goodness.....you sure are frustrated. Hate is such a deep emotion and should only be used in extreme situations. You really need to get a grip. Having to eat certain foods isn't all that bad, just think of all the things that could be REALLY SERIOUSLY wrong with your health. By eating the right foods you are going to be a healthy person and what could...
  6. Just made corned beef and cabbage for 90 people at my restaurant and got raves. I bake my corned beef in the oven with some water in the pan....low and slow. Don't go over 325 degrees and bake until tender and you can put the cabbage right in the pan with the beef. I actually bake the corned beef a couple of days before the event and then slice it and...
  7. Angie, there is an Outback Steakhouse near Eastowne Mall and Westowne Mall that has a gluten-free menu. When you go out next time, you should try it. I live in VERY northern Wisconsin, but my home is Janesville and I come down as often as I can. I would like to try Outback sometime. I hear their food is great and they have a chocolate gluten-free dessert...
  8. Dr Fine at Enterolab says that you can have an intolerance to gluten which, if you do not follow a strict gluten free diet, will lead to celiac disease. I had the full panel testing done with Enterolab and do not have the classic symptoms (mine were tummy pains, swinging between diarreah and constipation and a few others, but I actually tend to be overweight...
  9. Had never heard of Gluten Free Living.....I subscribe to Living Without and it is good too. I think I will look into the one you are talking about. These magazines would be such good gifts to get, wouldn't they? Barbara
  10. It is very nice of you to want to send this girl things that are compatible with her new eating style especially seeing that she is in college and trying to concentrate on her schooling. Hershey kisses and M & M's are gluten free for sure as are Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. She will always love you for doing this for her. You are a good mom. Barbara
  11. Even though I eat gluten-free, take LOTS of magnesium with malic acid (for my fibromyalgia) which would make a normal person not be able to get far from the bathroom....I still get constipated at times. I just take fish oil tablets when this happens and things smooth out right away. The situation gets to normal naturally. It is the best natural answer...
  12. Just made some chocolate frosting.....used softened butter, hershey's cocoa, gluten-free vanilla, confectioner's sugar and milk as needed. It is yummy. I was so hungry for something chocolate so made a gluten-free yellow cake mix and LOTS of frosting. I have a new Kitchen Aid mixer so let it really whip up in there and so it is nice and fluffy. Barbara
  13. There is a line of thinking that before too much more time goes by that Dr. Fine's (from Enterolab) testing method---through the stool will become the gold standard. It is much more sensitive than testing through the blood and more reliable. People that cannot get a good reading through blood are getting them from him and, in the end, spending less to...
  14. Blue Bunny Light 85 is gluten-free and tasty---sweetened with Splenda. Has fruit flavors. Pick and Save has it all the time and I see it at other stores as well. Barbara
