  1. A woman is walking down a beach and finds a magic lamp. She rubs the lamp and a genie appears. He tells her she has three wishes BUT whatever she wishes for her husband gets twice that much. Her first wish a million dollars. She gets it but her husband gets two. Her second wish is a mansion with a sports car in the garage, again hubby gets the...
  2. I went to the doctor a few years ago for tiredness and paleness. The doctor did some blood tests and sent me back to work. A few hours later I get a phone call from her nurse that went: Jenny, this is Meghan at Dr.----- office. She would like you in the hospital now. Me: Is there a problem??? Well your blood work came back. We'll see you at the hospital...
  3. I agree with eleep. I think sometimes we do grieve for things in different stages. I'm like you in not caring much for doughnuts but when I see a dozen on a table I yearn to take a bite. I think it is just normal for us.
  4. I wish I could help. I have made a green bean dish by adding canned mushrooms, diced onions, and bacon pieces. I have wondered if I could heat some cream and add cornstarch and water to it to make a thickened cream but have been afraid to try.
  5. Thanks Richard. I have severe anemia so I have to get that checked but I will ask for a B12. I had a bone scan done in Feb.
  6. I love the Ener G crackers. They make really good chocolate covered peanut butter crackers. Just spread them with PB and dip them in melted choc. allow them to harden. MMMMMMMMMMM
  7. I have been gluten free for 7 months now and need to plan a check up with my doctor. I have to get my hemoglobin tested every 6 months so I know I will ask for that but what other blood tests should I ask for?? This will be the first visit since my dx. Thanks in advance for any help.
  8. I would have suggested the same ones. When we stay in Overland Park twice a year I shop Hy Vee.
  9. I ate there about 6 months ago and also had a good experience. The staff seemed interested in my needs.
  10. No problem!!
  11. All I did was buy was white mushrooms and pull the stem out and wipe them off. I then dipped them into a beaten egg, rolled them in the Ener G bread crumbs, and put them in "my designated" fry daddy. When they floated to the top I took them out and drained them. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
  12. I know that fried food isn't good for us BUT I have really missed fried mushrooms. So when I got Ener G bread crumbs in the store I began to think---mushrooms--so I fried some up tonight and OM they were awesome. So far I feel fine (and happy)
  13. Me too. I am also anemic.
  14. I'll be watching too
  15. You will be in my prayers. I know how frightening it is when a child has to have tests done. When my children have had tests and surgeries I just prayed alot before hand and took puzzle books or reading with me to TRY to pass time. Just make sure to take care of you too because he needs you strong.
  16. I do that and sometimes I almost catch myself-- drooloing.
  17. I did not order any baking sods or powder yet. I made up some brochures and gave them out to have people circle what they wanted to see in the store. I did get the crackers--I love them--choc. chip bars. I have tried the cinnamon crackers they were ok but I didn't order them for the store---yet. I called one customer and told her that my stuff was in...
  18. As you can see I am a little excited about getting my first order from Ener G on my shelves. I got the first half yesterday evening and the rest today. I have already sold to three people, one being me. They are even more excited than I am if that is possible. No more hour long drives to get a loaf of bread.
  19. We sell them in our store and I have eaten them before because there was nothing with gluten listed on the label and did not have any tummy troubles BUT, I keep a daily diet journal and noticed that whenever I would eat them within a day or two my knees would really hurt. I do not know if one has anything to do with the other but it really seemed ironic...
  20. We had our annual fall festival last weekend. This is my first since my dx. I knew I couldn't have a corn dog, funnel cake, or any of the other tasty treats I used to eat but there was a booth that had "taters", where they spiral cut a whole potato and fried it. I asked if they fried anyhting else in the same vat and was told NO. The girl said thet fried...
  21. If I stretch out my neck and stand super tall I hit 5'2. I used to love clogs and platform shoes although getting all the way up to 5'5 made me dizzy ( I should say dizzier since I am blonde)
  22. Just as I signed on here this topic came over the radio. ARGGGG
  23. Mine too is just my name although when my Aunt by marriage and I took some residents from the school we worked at to the state fair one year she walked into a building and yelled to me my family was there. I went into the building and there in huge letters above a pen of, very cute I might add, donkeys was the word JENNY'S. She's so funny.
  24. This site is like an extended family. You can come in here and ask questions and not have to worry about anyone making fun of you or treating your concern as insignificant. The first day I posted here I was overwhelmed by the resposes I recieved from people who didn't even know me. I honestly do not know how I could have got through the last 6 months without...
