  1. Hush puppies are small cornbread balls. Long John Silvers serves them with fish. They have garlic and onion, you make a batter and drop them by spoonfuls into oil and fry them. They are usually really good.
  2. We had catfish for supper tonight and I was craving some hush puppies to go with them. I found a recipe on-line and they came out more like "harsh" puppies. They were very dense and heavy. Does anyone have a recipe I can try next time so I won't have to worry about dropping one on my foot and ending up in the ER.
  3. I have made them with brown sugar and a teaspoon of baking soda.

    ARCHIVED Ouch!

I hope you feel better soon. It takes awhile to learn so don't give up. I think we all get glutened by things we thought were safe. Good luck.
  5. heeheeheehee. You cracked me up.
  6. I just started selling Ener G foods in our store. I have a small selection to start with but it seems to be doing well. We are in the middle of rural Missouri and people seem to like not having to drive to "the city". I do carry some of their egg replacer and Soyquick. Good luck.
  7. (((((hugs))))) you and your family will be in my prayers.
  8. Thanks for the info and the thoughts. I will call.
  9. I called my doctor this morning to find out what I could take for a cough that kept me up all night. His nurse told me that my pharmacist would be able to help me, doctor wasn't there. So I went to my pharmacist and asked for a cough syrup that is gluten free. He said " I don't think there are any that are glucose free. We have a few that are sugar free...
  10. I love the Ener G crumbs so much I sell them in my store. They make great breaded mushrooms.

    ARCHIVED Cold Hands

Thanks for all the ideas. I do drink or hold alot of cups of hot tea. I am severely anemic and need to schedule an appt. with my doc. Thanks again.
  12. I don't know if this has been talked about but does anyone else suffer from freezing cold hands? If so besides wearing gloves inside what can I do? BRRRRR
  13. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I can't wait for it to come out. I hope we can find one we can drink.
  14. I never used to have cold hands until my last hospitalization. since I am anemic and celiac my hands are always cold. If my feet get cold then my back hurts, kinda crazy.
  15. Sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you are looking better soon.
  16. It is my first too. Ener G sells a gluten free cream of mushroom soup. I just ordered some so I will let you know how it tastes.
  17. I only use Mission. I keep mine in my crisper. I buy in bulk and they keep quite awhile if you keep them closed. I like them for wraps too. One of my favorite is to put a colby cheese slice, deli roast beef, and salsa, roll it up, and nuke it for about 15-20 seconds. MMMM
  18. Sorry you are feeling bad. I hope you are feeling better soon.
  19. It is a soft cream cheese by Philadelphia. They also come in Peaches & cream, Strawberry & creeam. They are wonderful.
  20. I agree.
  21. I made them as soon as I got home and OM they were wonderful. I bought some cinnamon/brown sugar cream cheese swirls and mixed in some marshmellow cream and made a wonderful icing. Thank you
  22. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. I think I just drooled on the key board. A "friend" was just describing a deicious pumpkin pie, not gluten free of course, so all I can say is BOOYAH.....
  23. I agree. I am so happy to have this site.
  24. We got home last night from a 1400 mile road trip and I never got glutened!!!!!!!! I was afraid when I left that I wouldn't be able to do it but I did. My dh had to stop more than I did lol. Thanks for all the past help that helped me to know what to do.
  25. I am glad that I am not the only person who has had "the grumblings" and knew that I had to go now. I try to eat light before a road trip now but before my dx I had several times when I would have to beg my dh to stop for me. At the time his "you just went" or "we only have 5 miles to go" would not help make the situation any better. Now he knows when...
