  1. Anyone know of any safe places to grab some grub in either the Memphis, TN or Evansville, IN airports? I've got a layover in Memphis this month, and traveling to/from Evansville. Thanks.
  2. And this message board has been a lifesaver for me. It's a place where I can come and research, learn, commisserate, laugh, find great recipes and support. Thanks to each of you who post often and read this board. Us Celiacs have to stick together! Steve
  3. We live in Denver but love Golden, and would love to meet up with some friends out there. Anyone know of any safe restaurants out that way? Thanks.
  4. www.frito-lay.com has a HUGE listing of their gluten free snacks. And it's updated often (last update was early April 2007). I think we need to thoroughly support them and they even said their STAX product (like Pringles) is made on a dedicated gluten-free line. All hail Frito-Lay!
  5. I emailed or called Champps last year (I can't remember which it was) but was told I could do a burger/no bun and veggies and there were a few other options. Give them a call - they actually knew what they were doing when it came to gluten-free.
  6. Ditto on the homemade frosting tasting so much better then the cans. Besides, with canned frosting, there are no beaters to lick!
  7. This place sounds yummy! I get to Naperville usually once a year or so for work, and I am definitely going to make the drive to check this place out. Thanks for sharing the info!
  8. I state this as because I think XDC's bakery items are far better then Deby's. I've never had anything at Deby's that I've tasted and went, "WOW!, that is really, really good for being gluten-free!". The blueberry muffin I bought once was dry, small and crumbly. The "hamburger bun" (and I use that term loosely) was horrible. I might as well have been eating...
  9. Forget Deby's - XDC Confections in the Denver Highlands area KICKS BUTT over Deby's. Today we got chocolate chip cookies, lemon square, brownie, chocolate cupcake and a cinammon roll. You will not be disappointed at XDC. You will be at Deby's. Open Original Shared Link 303-477-3574 4328 W 35th Avenue Denver, 80212 (35th &Tennyson) Tell...
  10. I know it's been a while since you posted this, but the guy who diagnosed me at day 1 in his office is Dr. Jonathan Fishman - Denver Digestive Health Specialists. His office is in the Rose Medical Center here in Denver.
  11. I've never had a bad experience at the Chang Chang Man's (as my friends and I call it). The ginger chicken and brocolli is my favorite, and I have heard they will make you gluten free fried rice if you ask (it's not on the menu). Though I do think the chocolate dome is overrated.
  12. I'm surprised their gluten-free items were the same price. That is nice to see. Is Bel Cibo in the Troy area still open? It's a little market that had some yummy food. I hit that place last summer when I was in town.
  13. Forgive me if this has been posted already, but another option for snacks/meals is from Thai Kitchen. I just bought their Pad Thai package and even though I'm not a pad thai fan, it's a great option. It comes in a little plastic tupperware container so all you need to do is add hot water, which the flight attendants can provide. I think it even comes with...
  14. Find out who the District Manager of this store is and contact them and report this incident. Or call Corporate.
  15. Keep us posted! I get to Troy a few times a year for work so I can definitely road trip the short distance to get some yummies in Northville.
  16. Some of the Lipton flavored tea bags have barley malt in them as well. I was all set to have a relaxing mug of peach tea a few months back and looked at the box, thinking, "It's tea, it's got to be safe" and there it was, barley malt. BAD LIPTON!
  17. I emailed them this morning and got a response in less then an hour - talk about great customer service! They have both a gluten free lunch and dinner menu, so Celiacs of Denver, we've got yet another place that is accomodating to us, so please go and support them (I am not affiliated with this restaurant at all, just a happy consumer!) Turns out, the...
  18. I looked for them this weekend at Kmart but didn't see that on the bag. I'll have to look again. The good news is I bought Peeps and they are gluten-free. I've opened the bag to let them "cure" (meaning, get a bit stale!). This is the email I received confirming they're safe: -- Thank you for your recent e-mail. We hope you enjoyed visiting www.marshmallowpeeps...
  19. Open Original Shared Link Here's the article. The link has some recipes, too. No wheat? NO WAY! 20. Congrats on a yummy and safe meal. We have a Bonefish about 30 minutes from us and I've not been there yet (never get up that way), but it's always nice to know it's there if needed!
  21. This is what Maneschewitz has on their site as being gluten-free. So enjoy! Kosher For Passover and All Year Round Brisket & Steak Seasoning Poultry Seasoning Fish Seasoning Grape Juice Pasta Sauce (All) Tomato and Mushroom Sauce Apple Butter Spreads Borscht (All) Chicken Broth Chicken Flavor Instant Mashed Potatoes Chicken Soup Chocolate...
  22. OMG! I made them and they turned out great. I used Bette Hagman's Featherlight Flour Mix for the flour and it worked. I used cherry pie filling. I need to find out about Solo Brand Apricot Cake & Pastry Filling (contains "Natural Flavor"). It's so good to have something from my childhood again. My partner loves these and calls them "yummy-tashen...
  23. Ditto. I love their taco salad.
  24. DITTO! I am definitely going to make these next weekend when I have time. I'll keep everyone posted.
  25. This sounds like cream cheese brownies that I loved when I could eat gluten. I am going to try this recipe soon - thanks for sharing!
