Open Original Shared Link -- about the communion. Nothing's going to change, but at least someone's trying.

Some options...I would recommend that you find gluten-free restaurants first and then see how they can accomodate to dairy. I think it'd be easier to find restaurants to accomodate to dairy-free than gluten-free and since many celiacs also have problems with dairy or soy or other common allergens, you might have better luck w/ a gluten-free restaurant.

I found that site when I was searching google. Here's the site that I thought was for San Francisco, but was actually San Diego...lol, two Sans so I got them mixed up. Oh, well, if you plan on visiting there anytime soon:

Wandering hermit, I agree that the Ener-G rice loaf tastes terrible. Did you try the tapioca loaf? A little thinner and less...drywall-ish. No bread is perfect, but that's the closest I've found. Also try lightly toasting it.

Yay! Anything we can do to "help you" through it. I am sincerely thrilled for you...I can't imagine not being able to walk, so this is must be an amazing victory for you. Glad you got through the weekend

If you really, really, really need to use oats, use McCanns or Country Choice...DO NOT USE QUAKER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES--major contamination, nor any others besides those listed. McCanns claims to have eliminated the one contamination problem they were having--one machine that was contaminating the oats, and now they claim to be gluten-free and even cleaning the trolleys that they carry stuff in and out on
. I would never eat oats, just because I don't need them so why risk it, but if you want to, just use those brands.

Oh, sidenote...get the bread mix and follow instructions, but flatten it in a pizza pan for the crust. It works better than the acutal "crust" mix itself. And if you don't like it as pizza, you might like the bread balls dipped in something.

Definitely... when asked why celiac wasn't better known, Dr. Green said that it's because pharmeceuticals plays an enormous role in what medical students get taught... if there's money to be made from medication, they'll spend lots of money to make sure the soon-to-be doctors know about it.
-
OK- I have a great idea. If we want to show the disbelievers and skeptics just how serious Celiac's can be, we can have a National Smelly Poop on a Mean Person's Couch Day. I've got my list prepared (no one on this board- first my boss, then my professor), and believe you me, I've got enough poop left over to spread it far and wide!!!! Beverly
LOL
-
I think for the most part this is a really friendly and helpful board. I hope whatever tension has been kicked up recently will die down and we can get back to laughing about pooping the couch...
I can definitely agree on that--I think we really are good friends when we're not engaged in cyber warfare about interpreting rules and posts...

Chebe is absolutely terrific! You'll almost definitely have to order it offline; see Open Original Shared Link . Shipping is free and you pay less per mix if you order in bulk...order small at first, though, to make sure you like it. I have it at least once a week, and when there are leftovers we freeze them and I sometimes put one in the toaster oven when I get home from school for a snack.
I love it and highly recommend.
And it's really simple....the mix, eggs, oil, and water. Also, you'll find that it gets better the more times you make it, though...you start to learn how to make it better and better as time goes on.

Definitely is...yes, get some reputable articles to show--while 1 in 133 in the US have it, it's 1/20 and 1/40 of the people w/ relatives (1st and 2nd degree)

ARGH!! I saw an amazing website with all these restaurants and healthfood stores in San Francisco.....didn't bookmark it...so sorry.
-
Entirely a hoax....you see those every now and then...
And as you said, a GI would definitely have told you...and if there was already a cure, we wouldn't still be researching for one. There are many hoaxes...such as one medication type thing that claims to attach to the gluten and prevent it from hurting your intestines....all scams...

Oops...I reached the end of page one, wanted to reply about Yoplait, and didn't even see that there's a pg. 2.........
that's the 2nd time I've done that.
Sorry for duplicating...
-
Yep--just read labels on Yoplait--gluten won't be hidden under natural flavors and the like. I believe that all are gluten-free, unless there's some special kind with granola in the top (so, all the whips, regular, custard style, etc., etc.)
I think Yoplait is one of the only flavored yogurts that can be verified as gluten-free.

To get the Delphi Forums list:
1) Go to the website, Open Original Shared Link
2) Click on "messages" or "start reading"
3) Select the folder "gluten-free Product List"
4) Click on the topic called "Downloadable files word"
5) Of the four options, choose the one in the upper right.
Or e-mail me (see the e-mail feature in the lower left) with the address you want it sent to. You'd probably prefer to get it off the site, but if you have problems with it, or cannot open the zipped file, I'll send you an unzipped version.

I also made this post to bump it to the front of the section since it has been useful and referred to quite often.

Some abdominal swelling, due to gas and such, but otherwise, I don't think I swell.

I also don't have any suggestions, but just want to offer any support
. I went to Open Original Shared Link , not that celiac is a wrong diagnosis
, but just to see what they had for burning/tingling symptoms--this seeemed closest to your description, but you might want to check out the other possibliites:
And then for the jaw they have an introduction:
I won't be able to help too much
but with symptoms that recur like this, there's probably something going on... maybe you'd find something there that helps you or maybe your dr. can be a little more...proactive in finding an answer to this...
Feel better!

Yes...many make mistakes or cheat in the beginning--cheating usually because they momentarily forget how bad it was before or because they're in denial. You cheated for the better reason; better because next time you want to, you'll remember this, whereas those who don't believe it will never accept that it's celiac. Don't be too hard on yourself--two weeks in you haven't healed too much yet--two years in it would have a stronger effect on your body.

Good idea, Michael...there's pre-diagnosis--which doesn't apply to newly diagnosed, and post-diag. is about later post-diag. primarily and recovery, treatment, etc. It would be good to have a newbies section...or "Just diagnosed"...
