  1. Thank you, everyone Wow...I just looked at today's top 10 posters...296 posts made today compared to an average 100 or 150...and Kaiti 25, celiac3270 25, Canadian Karen 23, mmm...gluten 20, bean 14, medaka 12, nini 12, tarnalberry 10, etc. Look at how this stirred up the board... And have you ever seen a topic with 63 replies in one day?!
  2. Hmm...are you trying to do a gallery one or upload one?
  3. I know P.S. Kaiti forwarded me the messages and there was no foul language in any of them. Exactly as Kaiti said.
  4. Dextrin can be made of wheat, but also of corn. For example, in Starburst, the dextrin is derived from corn and is safe.
  5. I ignored about 1/4 of the stuff that I didn't need to comment on. I have nothing to say about peanut butter and apples. And that's pretty ironic that you say that. I hate Hillary Clinton and just because I come from NY doesn't mean I'm a democrat. Strong Bush-backer, in fact, but that's besides the point. I'm starting to think that I shouldn't have...
  6. You're trying to add a "personal photo". You have to do evit avatar. I think that's it.
  7. Yay! My sincere congratulations. That's such a great step!
  8. I do want to mention, though, that despite getting offended over this, you're still welcome to join us here. Just please try to be more sensitive to our situation. Thanks
  9. [please read all the way through...it's not all an angry tirade] Mmm...gluten, you're going to call me touchy too for saying this, but quite frankly, I don't care. I have a few things to say and I don't care what you think of me as a result. First off, I don't think you're in a position to be telling us what's absurd and what isn't. We're the...
  10. I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, those who are coming here who cheat have a right to, and perhaps don't yet know about the repurcussions. If they come here, they might be taught enough to influence their way of thinking. On the other, I can see your point, that it may become frustrating answering the same question and listing the same related...
  11. The Wise chips I've seen are in a blue/yellow bag (I think?) and don't have an owl, lol
  12. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link And to those of you who were mentioning concern about genetically modified foods: Open Original Shared Link
  13. Yes. Positive bloodwork is really all you need for a positive diagnosis of celiac disease. Traditionally, though, doctors like to perform an endo. as well; if damage is found in the intestines there's basically no doubt about it then. The thing is, even if no damage is found, the patient should still go gluten-free on the basis of pos. blood--and the damage...
  14. Here's a link to many of the problems associated with celiac. Untreated celiac disease can give you cancer, type 1 diabetes, osteoporosis, malabsorption, arthritis, lupus, neurological problems...the list goes on and on: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid...-05105162400.d1
  15. I know. Although sometimes I have to put off venting for a few hours so I can cool down... like when a kid flicked cookie crumbs in my face...didn't post about that one, though--happened a few days ago... nobody gets it
  16. As Kaiti said, gluten will be clearly listed. All of Yoplait is gluten-free unless there's something like granola in the cap or something. I eat Yoplait often......
  17. Great article...longer and more in-depth than most of them.....
  18. Haagen-Dazs will mail you a gluten-free list, but basically just avoid Dulche de leche and all the obvious ones: brownies, cookie dough, strawberry shortcake, etc.
  19. Wow...$15,000 so far! Too bad it's the CSA and not GIG or some research program, but hey, it's celiac.
  20. Oh, that's interesting, Addicted2Gluten... Always good to know what the professionals recommend.
  21. Congratulations . Now add to your signature: gluten-free since May 11, 2005!
  22. I don't think I have social anxiety disorder or anything, but I just strongly dislike talking on the phone . I e-mail unless I need a quick answer or the company seems to dance around the topic in their e-mail response.
