  1. Hi Julie! right back at you. No news on Evie yet.
  2. You could do enterolab from spain. You'd just have to pay overnight shipping back to them, which could be pricey. I don't know how much of a biopsy cost you'd be required to pay if they require that for an "official" diagnosis. I'm guessing that enterolab would be less. If you've been gluten free for 6 months a york ELISA test may not pick it up. We...
  3. I would think that being off of wheat for a week wouldn't have had much of an effect on your tests. From what I've read a month can make a definate difference. If your symptoms have resolved I wouldn't go back either.
  4. If you had the extra money to spend that would be interesting. I really don't think he's pulling the wool over people's eyes but I definately agree that your malabsorption could be caused by something else.
  5. That would be frustrating! I would assume it's the b12 bothering you, but I presume it's possible that reaction could hide a smaller possible reaction from the egg. My mind is trying to understand all this as well. I don't know that I have the drive to learn everything about it but it would be nice to be able to grasp the basics of how it works...
  6. Rachel, Was it the bioset lady that had you start taking b12? Is there a different form like Susan mentioned that might work? I'm also curious about the egg. When do you need to have another one? I'm interested in how this works and whether you can tolerate more than you used to but still have to be careful about limits. Seems to me that it...
  7. Basically from what I understand you have gluten intolerance (or if you had gene testing done and have a celiac gene it could be the beginnings of celiac). I also scored 14. You caught this before you had an autoimmune response and before malabsorption started. That's good. With your dietary results I can only say that it would have gotten far worse...
  8. Bev, Like your new pic. Why are you hiding behind your hubby?
  9. Yah, I agree. I mean who can have just one egg as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Hadn't she said to eat a whole egg later in the week if you did ok with the 1/2? Write down your appointments and times....pm me and I'll call you to remind you. By pm'ing me it could help you remember the times as you'll be looking at it more. I like set times too though, that way it can become a habit.....which is a good thing until she's done...
  11. Rinne, Glad your hubby is ok. I'm waiting anxiously for your results along with you.
  12. Rachel, Woohoo, Yipee!!!! That's great news. Are your appointments Tues and Thurs? Did you have your half egg on Sunday? How'd that go if you did.
  13. Whew, aren't you glad that part is done. I do hope you still = once you've gotten over the numbing stuff completely.
  14. That is a lot of bulls-eye's. Inquiring minds want to know. You guys teach me so much on this thread. I'm learning.....just slower on some days.
  15. That's interesting. Our family is much the same way but we all have at least one celiac gene. I don't think we had progressed to that point though as our numbers were so low. How long does it take to get results back...... 3 weeks?
  16. Rachel, I don't know what to say. It seems to me that to get quality healthcare you have to pay for it. Definately a sad state of affairs. Carla, From what has been posted I would wonder why all the kids wouldn't have lyme if you've had it since your childhood. I would assume it just hasn't made it's presence known and the kids immune system...
  17. I haven't tried the Submarine bread. I usually make the sandwich bread. I've been buying it lately. Haven't made the cakes/cupcakes either. I have made some muffins that tasted pretty good though.
  18. That's a great story Rachel....with a happy ending. I like happy endings. Well, we've got a high wind watch again. Hopefully we won't lose power again. They've recorded gusts up to 42 mph here in Kalama. I think it said 52 mph at Portland Int'l Airport.
  19. Thanks, I needed that.
  20. Rinne, At least I'll still be able to get the official update before I leave next Thursday. Laura, Good to see you....we'll wait until you are ready to post.
  21. I like Annalise Robert's cookbook "Gluten Free Baking Classics" for baking from scratch. Her stuff does have dairy and eggs, most of which is easy enough to get around if you need. For mixes alot of people seem to like Pamela's I think. There are other good mixes out there people have mentioned and I'm sure they will chime in.
  22. I was told years ago by a coworker that the sticker was fruit based. Don't know whether that is true or not.
  23. Wow Carla! If that isn't providence that you two would talk about this today. Keep us posted.
  24. I think my little guy is teething. He had a really bad night last night and is now running a low grade fever. He only has 3 teeth so far. He seems to have more trouble with teething than my other two did.
  25. The doctor that I'm seeing for our intolerances isn't covered by our insurance. I'd cancel if it I didn't think of it like car insurance. We don't have the money to pay out of pocket either and we aren't really sick. Yes Patti, it is quite disheartening. My church organization has tons of doctors. I would have to hope that those who believe in God...
