ARCHIVED Just Got Enterolab Results In, Confused!
AndreaB replied to mindypal's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Mindypal, Did you have the complete panel done with the gene test? My son tested at 10.5 with a malabsorption score just over 500. Enterolab has set the cut off at a point where people notice improvement. I'm assuming their cutoff point somewhat falls in line with a moderate IgG ELISA test. That's just based on my testing. I have yet to get the... -
ARCHIVED The Baby Has It Too.....
AndreaB replied to Mamato2boys's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I know what you are saying. My infant son at around 2 months broke out with eczema on his face. I underwent allergy testing (IgE/IgG) and from that went gluten lite and soy free. Went through enterolab and found I was gluten sensitive, along with my oldest son and daughter. After going gluten free my babies eczema cleared up completely. I gave him oatmeal... -
Sounds like her hearing is about like mine. From Mitch: If you would have told her your name, she probably would have called you Sally or Sue, or...

Tavi, no worries. I'm sorry I can't help you with your daughter.....mine are still young and I am not that close to my stepsons.

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
The puppies. Those are one of my favorite dogs. If you have lots of pics, give them to Rachel and she'll make sure I get them......right Rachel? -
Simply V, So if I were to call the manufacturer of the OJ fortified with calcium would they be able to tell me if it was soy or corn that the calcium was with?

In other words, Mommy drop what you're doing and tend to this matter.

ARCHIVED Thought I Was A Newbie...maybe Not?
AndreaB replied to indigo1213's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Terch, Enterolab would be a good idea if you have negative bloodwork. If you haven't had that done and are gluten free then you may have negative bloodwork. I would definately have your doctor run tests if he/she thinks other things may be going on. From what I've read on this board some people took up to 2 years to feel better. Do you take a multi... -
ARCHIVED Could I Have It?
AndreaB replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome Moose! I would ask your parents to take you in to have a celiac blood panel done. That is very important. It is up to you and your parents whether you would want to go through with the biopsy. Another way to go would be enterolab. They do stool tests....check them out Open Original Shared Link. You sound like you could have celiac/gluten... -
Nisla, I couldn't get it to run from the links posted here. I went to www.cbsnews.com and scrolled down to find the Celiac video.

Julie, I'm always a day late and a dollar short......miss you almost all the time. And I agree with you about Celia........I see you Celia!

Ok, stupid question. Where on the cbs site do you click to send an email. I didn't see anything offhand.

ARCHIVED Holy Masabsorbtion, Batman!
AndreaB replied to JenKuz's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Also, in the process of looking for answers to your high malabsorption score,I would highly recommend going dairy and soy free as well to give yourself some help in healing. Dairy and soy also can cause problems with the intestines. My oldest son had a malabsorption score just over 500 which isn't bad, but his gluten sensitive score was only 10.5....just... -
ARCHIVED Thought I Was A Newbie...maybe Not?
AndreaB replied to indigo1213's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Terch, I didn't really have symtpoms before going gluten free. I had allergy/intolerance testing and then enterolab testing which showed an active sensitivity to gluten. I would suggest testing to nail down what may be problems areas for you. Enterolab only tests for a few foods right now, but from what I understand, if you are 10 or over in your results... -
Celia is too sweet....she won't turn into a three headed gator. Susan, your treat sounds good......pm me your story if you want to talk. Patti, always good to see you. My quiet house should erupt pretty soon, the kids should be home with Daddy shortly (unless they went to church service). They usually just go to Sabbath school. Seth is...

ARCHIVED Potty Training...
AndreaB replied to VydorScope's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Usually they can walk up the steps at 1 but they move up on step with one leg, bring the other leg to the same step and move the first leg up to the next step. Once they can walk up like an older child/adult then they should have the muscle control. I thought my son was being lazy too. -
ARCHIVED Potty Training...
AndreaB replied to VydorScope's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Patti, I agree with waiting until they are ready. I wanted my son trained around 3 1/2, he wasn't ready. Whenever I praised him for going (he did around 3 1/2), he quit. Now he thinks underwear is more comfortable and has the incentive himself to go. My kids doctor when we moved here said not to expect them to train before they can walk up steps... -
I'm quoting this from another thread just because I wanted to comment on it.... Celia, That must be one of the reasons you still look 20-ish.
-
Carla, The potty training thread isn't that scary. I went over there and came back in one piece. Not that I had much to offer. I don't know what I'd do if my sweetie was gone for a week. (Carla and Patti) The kids and I would drive each other even crazier. Talitha gets upset if her daddy isn't home by bedtime and if he happens to have...

ARCHIVED Potty Training...
AndreaB replied to VydorScope's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I had always been told that training between 3 and 4 reduced accidents. My daughter trained quickly with me making a game of it (at 3 1/2). I drew a track (she likes Thomas) and put stars up for when she or I went. Only took a couple weeks and she was done. My oldest son just turned 4. My mom put him in undewear when she was here watching the kids... -
Sorry Richard. When the kids are away is supposed to be relaxation time and adult time. I'm home with a baby that is a little warm. He may be teething. The others should be home within two hours.
-
OK, I finally got to watch it. Maybe shutting down my computer last night helped. I thought it was a good piece. I emailed my mom the video link. She's on vacation and I doubt she would have seen it. We have a gluten free store in Vancouver WA called Lingonberries.

Good Morning All! Have a safe and as non stressed move as possible Laura. We'll see you when you get back. Bev, Sounds like you had a good time. Also sounds like a good idea that you come out and take Susan (dingogirl) to Tahoe. Susan, (pixie) Have fun! Deb, Howdy! Patti, Good to see your smiling kitty. He reminds me...
