  1. Goodmorning everyone! Donna, I didn't think those "scratch" tests were very reliable. Have you had the elisa allergy test done? I'd be curious about what this doctor had to say about your situation too. Rachel, This lab sounds pretty good. Is Lyme only caused by ticks? I thought that was the main transmission but I would be surprised if it...
  2. Robbin, If you are interested in having mercury fillings removed I can get the name and possibly number of the dentist in Georgia that will do the whole mouth for around $2000 I think. My allergist/mecury toxicity doctor said there is a dentist there that does it and is supposed to be good. The doctor I see for allergies believes that they revolve...
  3. I know what you mean about the money. We decided to get the kids and Mitch tested for allergies. The doctor we are seeing is not covered by our insurance. We are on state assisted insurance. We want to make him our regular doctor (he's mainline trained with an interest in toxicology and allergies). He looks at the whole picture and works to determine...
  4. Wow Rachel! I'm glad that Dave went with you today for moral support and additional ears. On the one hand I'm glad you finally found a doctor to listen to you. That's got to be a relief. I know nothing about Lyme disease. How long til you get results....is it as long as allergy tests....a couple weeks? I'm sure you will continue...
  5. From everything I've read all diets have pluses and minuses. Cancers of various forms can come from any diet. I know my family needs to focus on more fruits and veggies, but we have left the vegan diet due to our allergies and intolerances. That's just us and we don't expect everyone to follow in our footsteps. Even as vegans we relied too much on...
  6. How does he deal with protein? Does he advocate the typical gluten canned foods? Please share. I hadn't looked into his stuff since I was already vegan. I'm also mildly allergic to gliadin which is in all the alternate grains except rice I think....I'm not sure about the rice though. You've got my curiosity up now.
  7. Mayflowers, Can you eat wild salmon? Do you have any vegetable or fruit allergies? How about beans? You can eat a successful vegetarian diet. I wouldn't suggest total vegan especially since you can eat turkey. You need to be eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables every day to get more of your nutrients in. Beans and other alternate grains...
  8. Rachel, Correct me if I'm wrong....but I thought my allergy doctor told me that if the hair analysis for mercury was low that it could mean the body wasn't getting rid of it. At least for me since I have so many fillings. Do you think this new doctor will want to do another hair analysis?
  9. Stephanie, I like your new avatar too! Molly, I would like to know too. Morgan, Glad to hear you're having fun. Bev, Good to see you. Have you started house hunting? If I'm a good girl my time on this computer/forum will be lessened. I will always be reading, just may not always have time to post. Hello all!
  10. I was gluten light for 1 1/2 months due to allergy testing, before I decided to go through enterolab. I believe I would have tested negative through conventional methods at that time and am glad that enterolab offers their services.
  11. I've learned that more recently. The people in power positions are very greedy. Mitch---Remember this is America and America is a leading instigator of fast food restaurants. A business that cares for it's bottom line of making money rather than caring for an individuals health. They are irresponsible to the effect that people that run fast food...
  12. Shai, I'm sorry you've been feeling down. I don't have much to offer that the others haven't said. I've found your posts to be insightful and helpful to me and I'm sure others. I'm glad you are a part of this forum. Your job sounds wonderful! I always enjoy looking at photos. HUGS for you and hope you get over your challenge quickly.

    ARCHIVED Doctor Research

Just type in the name of a doctor and you should get something with google. Everything I've seen is a pay service.
  14. Yes, they make cumin powder. We love it! If you have a coffee mill you can grind the seed yourself.
  15. Rachel, Thanks, I bookmarked the page. Haven't read it all though. I'll be waiting for your update after your appointment. As with many things, this is a difficult choice. Sounds more like a necessity to the option of getting better. I'll be interested in what the doctor says.
  16. Daffadilly, I really don't understand why people think gluten free is so hard. Maybe we didn't have as hard of a time because we were used to restricting our diet and reading labels. I don't remember if I posted that we used to be vegan. Went off that diet due to intolerance to gluten and soy and allergies to some beans. I've tested another that...
  17. Rachel, I'll hold you to that. I know you're not fond of the idea of chlorella but it would be a safer, albeit slower way of getting some mercury out of your system. I've read that the metals hold parasites in check, so that's another thing to think of. Here's the page on Mercola's site....Open Original Shared Link. Read up on it and see...
  18. Gary, I went through enterolab in May and ordered everything they have. The full gluten panel is $369 which includes gene testing, IgA antibodies, ttg, and malabsorption, and dairy. I also ordered the soy, egg, and yeast which was another $199. My allergy testing was $550 I think, which didn't include the doctors fees. Enterolab is a stool test. They...
  19. I do my best not to insult anyone's beliefs and hope they allow me the same courtesy. We all belief in something, we are all entitile to our own opinion. It is courtesy not to shoot down someone's opinion and discuss it in a way that won't belittle them.....or just let it drop. BTW I am a conservative christian who used to not be.
  20. Daffadilly, I'm so sorry you're grandkids have to go through this. From everything I've read Gluten Intolerance can be just as bad (or worse for some, like the DQ1) as diagnosed Celiac. I have one of each gene but since I tested through enterolab I call it gluten intolerance as I don't know which gene is active.....maybe both. My daughter has...
  21. I've never used the butters for making mayonnaise. I just use the nuts. With almond butter the skin is left on.....don't want that for mayonnaise. The cashew butter might work.....I haven't tried it. I've been buying the canola oil mayonnaise lately since it lasts longer. If I know I'll need a lot I like to make it though. I love cashews for making...
  22. More recipes. Cashew Mayonnaise 1 1/4 c boiling water 3/4 c raw cashews 1 Tbsp honey 1 tsp salt 3 to 4 Tbsp Lemon Juice WHIZ in blender until creamy-smooth all ingredients except lemon juice. Briefly whiz lemon juice in last NOTE: Adding boiling water cooks cashews somewhat, giving them more thickening properties, so fewer cashews can be used...
  23. Hi and Welcome! If you are having an actual allergy test done, it won't matter if you are gluten free. They can pick up things for a long time. My allergist told me they can go back as far as 10 years I think. Some things your body doesn't forget that well I guess. That may just be the more severe allergies. I tested positive for a dairy allergy even...
  24. Linda, That's one thing I hate about sports. So many coaches have a win or I'll make you feel this small attitude. Not good for the kids at all. Extracurricular activities are supposed to be fun and a way to get excercise. Kids need to learn it's ok to lose and to just go out and do their best and have fun. My daughter already has a hard time losing...
