  2. Thanks Patti, I'll check that out when I go to Wild Oats (sometime between today and Sunday). I prefer simpler things and don't like all the chemicals they put in regular soaps which is why I switched to Jason in the first place. I'll also check out the Tea Tree by Jason. My daughter had taken to being a little itchy on her legs and her HSP is gone...
  3. Oh, I hope not. Oh well, I can always pitch them and get the sensitive skin ones. That's what I got for the kids. Otherwise I'll switch to the unscented or something. We have been using Jason which has wheat in it. Just trying to switch out personal care products. What a pain, I'm used to reading food labels but these persnal care products may as well...
  4. I had my sorbet with banana last night. I started sneezing a hour or so later but don't know if it's my seasonal allergies, the new dove soap (cucumber and I forget ), or the sorbet. I usually have my sneezing attacks in the morning. The doctor I went to for allergy test said that many people who have hay fever or allergy to grass pollen do better when...
  5. I hear you. We went back to eating chicken, turkey, beef and fish (free range, natural, organic). We are allergic to gluten, soy and some beans (pinto, kidney, navy). We still need to try black beans, garbanzos and lentils again.
  6. Ener-g has a baking powder (calcium carbonate and citric acid) that is salt free as well as the baking soda which I believe is just calcium carbonate. I think there website is www.energ.com.
  7. Sorry. Just read the rest of the title so that recipe wouldn't work unless you were able to tweak it. I would think any recipe would work. Just leave out the salt.

  9. If you can do cashews I have a recipe you may be able to use. Cashew-Rice Milk 1/3 c cashew nuts 2 Tbs. honey 1 1/2 cups well-cooked rice 3/8 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla Approximately 6 cups water 1. Place cashews and rice in a saucepan or microwave container and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Hint: We generally use left-over rice for this...
  10. I personally don't recommend soy to anyone anymore but Soy Garden spread by Earch Balance is good for butter. Tofutti better than sour cream and better than cream cheese may be another one (you'd have to check ingredients). Yogurt check out Silk by White Wave. Cheese, follow your heart. You will find in very challenging to get used to soy cheese if you...
  11. Rachel, Hugs and glad your friend was able to be there for you. Plus all your cyber friends. It's a little harder to cry on our shoulders though. Sometimes I get down and it is always nice to come talk to you guys.
  12. If wheat is the only gluten food she can't eat than how about this recipe. Linda's Wheat-free bread This is for baking in the oven but I'm sure it could be adapted. You could always make the oven kind and freeze the extra. It makes four loaves so you would want to adjust the recipe accordingly for just one loaf. In electric mixer bowl place...
  13. Well now, that does add quite a bit to your list of can not's doesn;t it. I also have a low allergic response to bananas and haven't been eating them for 2 months. Going to make sorbet tonight and add enjoy life chocolate chips. Hopefully I'll be ok and Seth too.
  14. Ok. I'm back. Hubby decided to do a pedicure for me. He's so sweet. Now, I've never had a reaction to gluten before, but I am allergic and intolerant to soy. Of course I got the cinnamon ones and I'm not used to cinnamon. Floridian, How about avocadoes, coconut oil, any nuts you can eat.
  15. Babies are such a blessing. Enjoy him, they grow so fast!
  16. Erewhon rice with berries (gluten free), perky o's. I'd had granola (I know oat before those, not doing oats anymore unless I buy the gluten free ones), a few weeks ago. I also think the starch thing makes sense.
  17. Ok guys. If this thing with potatoes is real, does that mean we should avoid those? I don't have any obvious symptoms or anything like that. I could always buy the small red or white potatoes. I have noticed that I have a problem with cereals lately. My stomach just can't take much of it. Of course the last time I had them I was using Rice Dream,...
  18. Floridian, Ursula has something about nightshades in her sig I think. I know it Potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant I think and maybe green peppers. Don't quote me on that though. Check out Ursula's sig.
  19. Are these soy free. It seems chips have soy lecithin in them. I've found enjoy life chips recently and they don't have soy lecithin in them.
  20. Anyone have that recipe or the link for it. I'm just starting to browse this category.

    ARCHIVED Eczema

I have two eczema spots that don't really bother me and haven't gone away. They fade and brighten at times, I haven't tried to figure it out. Still have to switch to gluten free personal care products. Just bought some dove shampoo/conditioner and soap. My infant son broke out with eczema which is what alerted me that something was wrong. I got allergy...
  22. If you have the money enterolab does stool tests which would tell you if he had an active intolerance, ttg and fecal fat score. They also do gene testing and soy/egg/yeast. Check out www.enterolab.com for more info. You don't have to go back on gluten to do their test.
  23. Julie, That must be a casualty of my computer crashing a few months back. I probably just searched for (state) immunization laws. Floridian, If you're old and a grandparent then where does that put me at 39 with my oldest being 6?
  24. It's only going to get worse as far as our rights are concerned. As far as I know for schooling through high school you can sign a form about exemption for personal, religious or medical reasons. At least our state still allows that. I know I found the info online. Computer crashed since then so I'll have to dig around in my files on my computer and see...
