  1. Schuyler, Sound like a really nice guy.
  2. Rachel, That totally disgusts me. It doesn't sound like anything is safe to eat. Although, if this stuff is being sprayed on conventional and organic products then the organic would still be better. The lesser of two evils though. It wrecks havoc for you and all the others that are sensitive and who knows what it does to infants/young children, let...
  3. Thank you Scott! It's great to have such a wonderful community.
  4. Rachel, I'm no expert on this but it sounds like maybe the meds had more of a problem being absorbed with the "d". Sleeping on the sales floor...not the most comfortable or quiet place for a nap. Could it be that the "d" and allergic reactions took a lot out of you and your body is craving rest? Hopefully this drowsiness won't last long.
  5. Rachel, That's awful that your vacation was such a fog. I'm glad you are doing better though. Is it true about the insecticide being sprayed on the produce? It seems like we have to choose against non organic with all the pesticides etc or the organic with all the msg. Neither of them sounds like a good choice. I have still been choosing...
  6. They like ground beef with homemade taco seasoning. I'll have to experiment with different things like that.
  7. Shai, We love smoothies! Especially my oldest son. Thank you for the other ideas. Do you have a particular childrens calcium supplement that you like? I have a supplement for me which is chewable but doesn't say anything about children. I think I'll try and get ahold of the company. We have a champion juicer that we use to make sorbets and...
  8. My husband and I are soy intolerant and the kids both are 1 point below an intolerance. We have chosen to have the whole family soy free.
  9. Julie, It wasn't great, kinda slimy. I like their hot dogs though and so do the kids. Now if I can just get them eating other regular meats.
  10. That's great that you are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel Lister. Great news about the hospital bills to.
  11. Thank you Satori, I was wondering how the Spectrum shortening would do. I hadn't thought of using coconut milk for baking...sounds good.
  12. Applegate farms is hormone, antibiotic free. I don't think they are organic but I think they are natural. We buy their stuff. I'll have to look into that. We are picky about the meat being natural or organic and preferrably free range.
  13. I have tried their hot cereals and haven't had any problems, but I didn't have any obvious symptoms when I went gluten free. My daughter has become more sensitive though. She got glutened a couple weeks ago.
  14. Let me start out with the fact that we are not intolerant to dairy, although some forms of it bother my daughter. I have not had her go through allergy testing but I am mildly allergic. Milk is easy enough to replace. My problem is with butter. I do have a recipe for butter that uses coconut oil which is ok. We are doing away with everything but butter...
  15. Peanuts and Soybeans are from the same family. If you are allergic or intolerant to soy the likelihood of becoming allergic/intolerant to peanuts is higher. I don't know percentages. Also if you don't use natural peanut butter maybe the hydrogenated oils are bothering you.
  16. Have any of you looked at www.dogtorj.net. He has written articles for celiac.com and has some very good ones about diet for animals and man. He has benefitted healthwise from eliminating the "big four" which is gluten, dairy, soy and corn. My hubby just decided we are going dairyfree again (except for butter at this point). He threw out the milk and...
  17. I don't know what the six means in subtype 2,6. It appears that you have 1 celiac gene, don't know if the 6 is a gluten sensitive though. You'd have to read the script on that. It doesn't mean you have celiac, just that you can get celiac. Your IgA level being ten indicates that you have an active gluten intolerance but enterolab cannot diagnose whether...
  18. Our results are listed in the signature. I only put in what we were over for. It sounds like you have an active intolerance plus an autoimmune reaction. I'm not sure what that part means though. Maybe someone else will post about that.
  19. That's great Susan! Glad she's feeling better with the new food.
  20. Julie, I may never have the money for it, but one reason I haven't had it done is because of the baby. He got enough of a load inutero and well as with nursing. I can't have them removed and go though chelation. It would cause him innumerable problems. I'm a long time nurser. The oldest two did 2 years 10 months each.
  21. I've copied the article over to read later and bookmarked his site. The new site is www.dogtorj.net. Thanks.
  22. Vic, Her stomach aches could be from the sugar she was ingesting. I know if I have something that has too much sugar my stomach complains. With her number that was over ten was that IgA or IgG. IgG is the long term allergic response to a food. IgA from what I understand measures intolerances. If you can swing the money and what a basic test to see...
  23. I have a bread machine. I'll have to try some recipes that use it and see how they turn out. I also have two cookbooks by Donna Washburn and Heather Butt. One of them has two bread recipe sections. Oven and bread machine, so I can try both and see which I like better.
  24. Julie, My last post was probably confusing. I do have the superfine by Authentic. If I'm able to afford the time I will make a batch each of muffins from the superfine and BRM. I'm inclined to believe Annalise though. She says that these will be similar to wheat things...IMO if the BRM is used it wouldn't be the same. Although, maybe we are just used...
  25. Donna, Happy Birthday!!!!!
