AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Calling Donna. Are you feeling better today? Floridian, We miss your posts. Seen any dolphins lately? Did I tell you guys my favorite marine animal is dolphins and my favorite land animal is a tiger? I love all cats though as well as horses and dogs. Giraffes are pretty neat too. My hubby loves Cheetahs. We must be the kitty family... -

I haven't had any symptoms with my intolerance but it sounds like you at least have gluten intolerance which is still gluten free for life. Welcome to the board. -
ARCHIVED Adding New Foods To Our Diets
AndreaB replied to BamBam's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Marcia, I hear you. We've been buying enjoy life cookies and they don't last long. A serving is two and they are small. My hubby and I always eat 6 apiece and the kids eat 3 or 4. -
ARCHIVED If The Diet Isnt Working........
AndreaB replied to Tasha2004's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It's expensive but have you thought of enterolab. www.enterolab.com You don't have to be on gluten to take the test and if gluten has been sneaking in her levels will still be up there. They also test for dairy, soy, egg, and yeast. -

ARCHIVED Adding New Foods To Our Diets
AndreaB replied to BamBam's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't have a problem eating rice or eggs frequently myself. I was told by the doctor I saw for allergy testing that when you get the flu you need to be careful of what you eat because you could develop an allergy to it. I thought that was interesting. -
ARCHIVED Does My 10 Yr Old Daughter Have This?
AndreaB replied to tnmomof3's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If your doctor is unwilling to run lab tests or they come back negative or inconclusive you could have enterolab run tests. They do gluten, ttg, malabsorption, gene, dairy, soy, egg and yeast. They are expensive, but I feel, worth it. www.enterolab.com if you want to check them out. Sounds very much like it could be gluten, soy and/or dairy. -
ARCHIVED Other Foods Causing Problems....
AndreaB replied to BeckyW's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Soy and dairy are probably the two biggest aside from gluten. Corn is also a problem for many. If you have the funds I would suggest enterolab (Open Original Shared Link) to see if she has an intolerance to dairy, soy, eggs or yeast. That is all the test for aside from gluten issues and genes. If it proves to be too much of a challenge right now to do... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel, The food will come in time also, as you heal. Keep up with the meds and for goodness sake, give them time. It to awhile to get sick you know. -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel, I'm going to come straight to the point. Your ex is not worth the pain and suffering he has caused you. This relationship will never work and you will continue to get hurt. Anyone who lies to another significant other while still seeing someone, even as a friend, behind their back cannot be trusted. I had an ex who called me when my then... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel, I was very much "man dependent". It wasn't until I realized that I could live my life alone if need be that I met my husband. I didn't have my horse to entertain me after high school since I had leased her out and couldn't afford to take her back. She took up a lot of my time in high school and was my best friend. Then I got a dog that was... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel that's tough. If it's not our past (I'm talking primarily fathers here) than it is us. My mother is very afraid of showing love because she doesn't want to get hurt. I always knew she loved me but she showed it with giving me things instead of her. She's a smidgen better today, at least she told me she was afraid of getting hurt. I have a friend... -
ARCHIVED What's In Your Olive Oil?
AndreaB replied to penguin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We only ate out a couple times a year (Olive Garden) before finding out about our intolerances. That definately stinks as far as the cooking oil combo at restaurants. We are soy intolerant as well and avoid canola oil as much as possible. I purchased the overpriced spectrum olive oil from Spain. Went to the cooc.com that is mentioned on Dr. Weils site... -
Welcome! I was vegan before being diagnosed with allergy and later through enterolab intolerance to gluten and soy. I am also allergic to some beans and my hubby is allergic to pinto and not willing to try others again. Please if you feel you must remain on the vegan diet, don't rely on soy to fill the gap. Soy can cause as much damage to the villi...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel, I totally understand. It's very traumatic getting over a break up and the added stress, from what I've read, could have made things worse. Take care of yourself and let things progress naturally. If it is meant to be a more serious relationship than things will turn that direction. Easier said than done according to my past. You sound like... -
From what I have learned, dairy allergy CAN go away but it also MAY get worse. Casein intolerance is casein free for life. I have a dairy allergy but not casein intolerance. I had been primarily dairy free for 3 years, only having it 3-6 times a year and I still tested low for an allergy. I currently still eat butter but have just recently cut back out...

ARCHIVED Confused With Prenatal Vitamins
AndreaB replied to smilemaker's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Melzo, Your vitamins sound great! If your doctor says and you say the baby is healthy, I believe you. You are not overdoing anything with the vitamins, except folic acid which won't hurt you. Keep us posted when your baby is born. I love babies. Do you know what you are having or is it a surprise. Two of mine were surprises, the last one we found... -
ARCHIVED Megan's Gagging Isn't Any Better
AndreaB replied to TCA's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Tanya, You know, it's interesting that Megan was fine and flew threw the tests last week and now she's not doing well again. Could it be the hand of God saying, "no, the heart surgery need to be first"? I too like to have updates as you are able to post them. She sounds like a sweet little girl whom I wouldn't mind meeting if we were in your area (we... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
So how do we find out if ours is pure or not. Have any of you tried grapeseed oil. I use grapeseed in my baking. That's good although expensive. Our olive oil we bought last time is from spectrum, from Spain. It says 100% first cold pressed extra virgin unrefined organic olive oil. It's a big can type (so it's dark inside ) 3 liter container. -

ARCHIVED Gluten/dairy/soy Free Butter
AndreaB replied to carolyn-lsc's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have a recipe for butter that uses coconut oil, oil and carrot juice. It called for some soy but I left it out. If you get coconut oil try and get spectrum. It doesn't flavor everything coconut.
