ARCHIVED Please Help With Me Understand My Daughters Results...
AndreaB replied to vicp's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My whole family (except infant son) had stool tests done by enterolab. We didn't have any symptoms of gluten intolerance. My infant son broke out in eczema just after he was two months old. I underwent allergy testing and eliminated things that I was high or moderate on which included what is listed in my signature below. The enterolab showed that myself... -
I also just got Gluten Free Baking Classics by Annalise Roberts. Haven't tried anything yet. Looking to start this weekend but don't know if I'll be tackling bread or just the muffins to start. I do know the flour blend can make a difference from what I've read. Did you use a regular size bread pan or the little guys? The little ones are supposed to...

ARCHIVED Book Review: Gluten Free Baking Classics
AndreaB replied to angel-jd1's topic in Publications & Publicity
Julie, I had read on another post that the fine grind by BRM made the product grainy. The superfine by Authentic is supposed to be better. All my other flours except sweet rice are by BRM. I haven't tried anything yet. Hopefully this weekend will afford the time...Hubby has Monday and Tuesday off for a 4 day weekend. Then he can tend to the little... -

ARCHIVED Old Friend Said We Can't Come Over
AndreaB replied to mart's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm so sorry Mart. I haven't been reading new posts recently and just got caught up on this one. You deserve better as every else has said. I haven't had a close friend for over 6 years now. I have some friends from church I talk to once in awhile but they are a long distance phone call and I'm the only one who calls. It took me a long time to... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Wow Christina that all sounds so complicated. I have mercury amalgams so I know I have lots of mercury in my body. I had a hair analysis done which isn't very accurate in nailing metals. I forget what all it said. I was higher in arsenic. My hair levels didn't even have b12 so the doctor gave me a shot of b12 and I came home with some of the same... -

ARCHIVED Diagnosis, Diet, Symptoms Etc
AndreaB replied to AndreaB's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome Mama Belle! While you are waiting for your appointment check out www.enterolab.com and see what you think. You can print off what you'd like and see if your doctor has heard of them, or find out if insurance would cover any of it. We had enterolab done for the family except my infant son. Their test would be able to tell you whether you are... -
ARCHIVED Newbie Here With Some Suspicions
AndreaB replied to Laurasc's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It will get easier as time goes by...but you will have those times you get depressed or down about not being able to eat just any ol thing. Do you have tinkyada pasta? If you can't find anything nearby, there are choices to order online to get gluten free stuff. It all depends on what your looking for. If you knew what you wanted I would even be willing... -
Enjoy Life is sold through glutenfreemall.com. I imagine the shipping/customs costs would be prohibitive though. Enjoy life does sell chocolate chips. If you really want something with chocolate or to make chocolate chip cookies etc than maybe you wouldn't mind the extra expense. You'll find soy in lots of stuff to unfortunately. Keep us posted as...

ARCHIVED Confused, What To Do Next..
AndreaB replied to mom2fiveblueyebabes's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Am I correct in assuming your 19 mo old has been eating gluten? If you can afford it I would recommend the stool test that enterolab runs. If your doctor would run the biopsy it could still be negative (they may miss the damaged spots). My family used enterolab and found that 3 out of 4 of us had gluten intolerance. My husband and I also have soy intolerance... -

AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Christina, I'm glad you're doing better today. I don't have a lot of allergies or sensitivities that a lot of the girls do on this thread, not to say that I won't at some point in my life, but I like everyone here. I am trying to avoid as much msg as possible but short of canning all my own tomatoes, can't do it with those. I would have to buy who... -
ARCHIVED Newbie Here With Some Suspicions
AndreaB replied to Laurasc's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Laura, Welcome! It sounds like you may have found the culprit. Please keep us posted on how you do in a few days after you add back in gluten as well as your appointment. Good luck and keep on reading this forum so you will have some of the basics down when you are ready to go gluten free for good. -
It sounds like you may have a problem with soy. You reacted to dinner in which you had soy sauce, you reacted a day that had chocolate in it which has soy lecithin. Check you other goodes. Soy products are in many things, especially soy lecithin (all chocolate) and soy flour. Enjoy Life makes treats, bread, cereal and bagels. They don't use any soy or...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Christina, DON'T GIVE UP!!! You are such a vital part of this community and I always enjoy reading your posts. Are you super sensitive to msg also or could this be something else. How long have you been gluten free? What other foods are you avoiding? Did you go through what you ate the last few days to see if anything was different? I can understand... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Robbin, I had one today too. I am mildly allergic to dairy but not intolerant. For some reason I'm not allergic to cheddar cheese. Don't know why that is unless it's the aging process. Julie, I just got the flour mixed for the muffins and pastry stuff with the superfine flour. I can't do the bread flour mix until I get more potato... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Patti, Were you the one who was ordering the Gluten Free Baking Classics by Annalise Roberts? I thought I had all the flour to mix up and I forgot to buy a big bag of potato starch. I do have a little on so I can mix some. I bought all 25 pound bags. The trick will be to get the bags back in the freezer, once they are opened, so they won't spill... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Goodmorning girls! I gotten out of hand with sugar lately. As well as dairy. I need to cut back down to just butter and cheese unless milk is called for in a recipe. Of course, I really don't want to and so many recipes call for dairy. Since I can't eat soy products anymore than it's going to have to be dairy. I've been eating breyers ice cream... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel, Hope those meds work for you. Robbin, If you find out anything about the frozen food bags please be sure to post. My infant son hasn't reacted with eczema so I'm thinking they are ok. He's pretty sensitive and he's only nursing. Just started him on rice cereal. Yummy mommy! We've switched to just buying organic frozen and that... -
For those talking about amalgams...I would like to have my remaining ones removed also. I got 4 crowns last year and I know they use some kind of metal base to secure them. I have 4 more crowns that need to be done and two other fillings aside from that. The crowns should take care of most of the problem, I just don't have the money with getting the enterolab...
