  2. altho coke is gluten-free i would be carefull of how much you have, coke absorbs and takes calcium away from your body, i love coke but try to limit it to once a week as a treat as im also dairy intolerant so its especailly important for me not to let any calcium that im putting in to my body get waisted. oh the butchers comment that gfp said is a good one...
  3. thanx for replying nikki, i was hopeing youde reply as i know you are uk and have kids. in all fairness to hubby he is supportive of my condition but i think it has more to do with him wanting the boys to be " NORMAL" like what ever that is, our son is partly sighted and we disagree over that greatly as well because he wants him to be normal like other boys...
  4. thanx for replying gfp, im gluten-free but kids and hubby are not, the prob is i know celiac is in the genes and i guess im thinking maybe ive passed it on to them. my eldest son is sooo skinny and eates for wales the amount of food he eates scares me and he never puts weight on, my hubby says that hes growing and is active so he wont put any weight on and...

  6. 2 days ago my youngest son came in to go to the toilet, within seconds i herad screaming my som ran out of the bathroom crying and saying " my willy my willy it hurts" it was awfull this went on for a while and i amnaged to cal him down when he allowd me to look at him his penis was red and infalmed so i took him to the docs who said he may have an infection...
  7. just had my dietician app and told her i miss my cereal she said i could have kellogs rice krispies i knew somethiong was a miss there and went home looked it up in my bible ( uk directory) and sure enough it contains barley, well i was shocked that she gave me that advice she should have known better

    funny you should ask this cos ive just had my appoitment with the dietician a couple of days ago. basically it was a mixed thing for me cos altho she was very nice and quite helpfull in seeing that i lacked enough calcium and luch time carbs she told me it was safe for me to have kellogs rice krispies, now i went to my " bible " and saw they had malt in them...

  11. i told a woman today about my ceiac and she replyed " you can take a tablet for that you know" i looked at her and thought huh i dont think so but thought ide run it past you guys antway . i known its crap but thought ide make sure. i know i can take something for the lactose bot not anything else

YES!!!! especailly when glutend my dp gets very bad also anger when glutend its hard noticeing the difference beteween pre-peroid and being glutend or being ill how does anyone tell the diff. it boggles me not only dealing with feeling ill but finding out if its something else thana leah, im looking that one up
  14. unfortynatly blood tests arent very acurate at all i cant afford the entrelab test iether try the diet as its the best test for really knowing for yourself if gluten is the culprit.

  17. im gluten free- milk free- nut free and white suger free, but im glad i dont have to give up wine
  18. some high fat food, chocolate and crisps. high protien food will also help as it did with me. lots of ommletts.
  19. there are loads of stories on the site about false negatives, im one myself, had the first blood test which sujested i was then the second said i wasnt. the proof in the pudding is the eating as they say and the diet is for me the most posotive way of saying if you are gluten sensetive. i have the same prob with my mum she wont even take the test as she is...
  20. sorry havent read all the posts yet but its basically the same thing. unless he thought yu had a wheat problem then you wouldnt be celiac. but again if gluten is the prob then you are celiac.
  21. im doing the same thing at the mo and have a nut problem, not a major one where i stop breathing or anything but enough to be a problem for me. im eating a lot of eggs at the mo and haveing salmon and peas in my ommlette coverd in tomatoes, LOVE IT. i also do alot of frozen veg and fish and stir frys.
  22. its funny cos its true i honestly dont understand how on earth they can charge you £3 ( im in wales so cheaper) for a loaf and again like you said can get it from tecso for less than half the price. when my doc first gave me my scrip for gluten-free bisciuts i looked at them and thought " uhh i dont think so" not when i can get nicer taisteing and cheaper ...
  23. dont be hard on yourself you are only human. i glutend myself once and my kids had sweets and choc for breakfast as i was ill to even get out of bed. chill out
  24. can you have the patches i have a milk prob too the gluten-free food i often cant eat iether, sorry i messed that post up.
