  1. Ya made yer hubby happy. Nuthin' to be embarrassed about.
  2. I fell asleep last night on the couch. Had to wake him up early, um, so I could get ready for work  which I still haven't left for.
  3. Political rally was fabulous. I'm really not into being in crowds, or politics, but it was a lot of fun watching people respond to someone they liked. And Obama laughed when he got woofed at (UW mascot is the Husky). I am completely exhausted, in part because I got up early to get there early, and in part because being around all the energy really wipes...
  4. Can you make this a positive for both of you? "Oh wow! I'm so glad you want to do this! I'll be there with you and tell you all the things that super sensitive Celiac people will ask you about so you'll know how to handle it in your restaurant. I hang out on this great forum and you wouldn't believe the things some people have had to deal with!"
  5. Gettin' up early tomorrow to go see Open Original Shared Link We're going to meet up sometime between 6:30 and 7, depending on how soon the closest person gets there and sit around for hours waiting for something to happen. I tried to convince my computer kid to camp out there overnight, but he wasn't up for it. I figure since everyone (who's anyone) from...
  6. I once designed a giant checker board on a lab bench using (expensive) colored tape and different bottle tops for the two sides of the board. Was going to do chess, but someone deconstructed my work.
  7. Nutrients should be in the grain, not sitting on top......
  8. Sounds like she is also a caring young lady, so she can't be too badly spoiled - just well cared for.
  9. Anyone need socks? Open Original Shared Link
  10. As long as you promise to not behave yourself, you can stay.
  11. And gluten/flour would be sticky anyway. It wouldn't be used to keep shredded cheese free flowing.
  12. Glad to know I was there for ya! I commute 90 minutes each way and couldn't do it if I didn't have a freezer full of food to grab on the way out the door, or to heat up when I got home. I think they would love it. I do crock pot meals (of course) but also fish in foil with little marinade or spice on it (put whole thing into oven to cook, sides...
  13. I would print out Raven's first paragraph and bring it to your sister. Maybe knowing that this happens to other people too would help her.
  14. I would pick snickers over fruit 'n' nuts too.
  15. I also don't do bread. It's just not worth it with all the other food options around (cracker snacks, rice wraps, tortillas, lettuce wraps, slice of meat wrapped around cheese, etc).
  16. I rarely find that being rude gets me what I want in the end. If I really want a place to eat out I'll work with them to get them to understand my specifications rather than send off a sniping message. It comes down to what do you want? To feel righteous or to have dinner?
  17. Why attach a label at all? Just tell people you get really sick when you eat gluten.
  18. Some people have difficulty staying focused through an entire paragraph, especially when newly diagnosed. The important parts are sometimes worth repeating.
  19. If gluten is damaging your intestine, which appears to be the case based on your fecal fat score, then any time you eat gluten you will be destroying your intestine whether you feel bad or not. The lifestyle gets easier with time. I encourage you to adapt your diet completely now, and make decisions about later, later.
  20. Fergot breakfast so I took him out to our little local diner, and yes, he just left. I'm a little sleepy this morning afternoon, must have been the wine. He liked the pizza and the ahi on rice crackers. Spring rolls had too much vegetation for him. Udi's pizza crusts are really good, if you haven't tried them yet.
  21. yes, but you can make me laugh. that's worth a lot. If you ever bring Cooper to Seattle to visit Mabsy I'll make you a feast.
  22. Yes, we'll see if he survives my cooking. I'm doing shrimp spring rolls, salmon/goat cheese pizzas, and grilled ahi on rice crackers. I was trying to figure out how to do something low dairy, low veggie that wasn't straight meat. I guess we'll see if this works. Maybe I'll try to work him up to stir fry or sumpin'.
  23. I, of course, drink so rarely that even the lightest of drinks would put me under the table. Went to get brown rice tortillas to make smoked salmon and herbed goat cheese quesadillas tomorrow and they were out of tortillas. While the lovely lady was helping me look other places to see if they had been moved, I discovered Udi's pizza crusts. So now...
  24. OK, I see where you're looking - in the 'my information' part. You put that in, and you can change it by clicking the 'edit profile' button at the top of your profile.
