  1. There is spam, and we do catch it, and there are people who post innocuous things until they are no longer moderated and then start spamming. The gluten-free community is small enough that it's worth the extra effort to try to entice people to buy from your website. Amazon may be a legit company, but their advertisers may occasionally sub out to people...
  2. It's not that you spam, it's the companies. When their name appears in a forum, someone appears to begin spamming that forum with all kinds of adds to the company. I don't know if they are actually employed by the spamming company, or just what the deal is, but that's the reason we don't allow links from them.

    ARCHIVED Spain!

I usually eat from the markets, I can't afford to do restaurant meals. I'll stop at the market, pick up meat and veggies (and previously cheese, but I've since decided that dairy is a bad idea), and snack on my way to wherever I'm headed that day. I've found that grocery stores always have potato chips and the ingredients are written in several languages...
  4. Well, I don't actually need any help finding food.....I just want to say SIXTEEN MORE DAYS!!!!! So excited!!

  7. Big hugs Raven. I, too, love my wee beasties beyond reason and I understand how painful it is when they leave. Snuggle with your other babies and you'll all get through this.

  13. A friend of mine has a genetic disorder that caused those muscles in both her hands to waste away. She was expecting it because other family members have had the same problem. In her fifties she had reconstructive surgery to make her thumb usable again. Maybe something similar and not related to gluten at all?
  14. I came home yesterday, doin' my normal come home thing. Lyle starts calling me from my bedroom. Multiple "c'mere kitty!"s did nothing. I walk into the kitchen and see his tail disappearing around the corner into the bedroom. Walk into the bedroom and there's a mouse in the middle of my rug. So Lyle and I took turns chasing him around, Lyle succeeding...
  15. I would be absolutely appalled to meet a woman who does nothing. Most I know do gardens, art, volunteer, house remodel/maintainance, etc... Women never do nothing....
  16. I had no idea how sick I was until I stopped eating gluten. Some things creep up so gradually they just get incorporated into your life.
  17. You say "we just relocated here and I'm taking this opportunity to go back to school." Exactly why is no one's business. If they press you can say you have a partially complete degree that you had to put aside for a variety of reasons and you're excited for the chance to finish it.
  18. No, I really don't think so. I avoid brussel sprouts for long stretches at a time and have never managed to develop a sensitivity to them. But seriously, my brother and SIL did a full elimination diet and didn't eat gluten for about a month, since it was one of the last things added back in, and neither of them had any reaction whatsoever.
