  2. Whatever you would like to cook on -- I still don't have a kitchen. I'll spot you the cookware.
  3. Dunno....It may get up to 80 tomorrow.....
  4. We are nearly 65 here. Your sidewalks are twice as hot as our air (and you-all thought I'd never use those math classes ).
  5. oh, and it's 60 degrees in my house. what is this heat you all keep talking about?
  6. We had our opening weekend breakfast last night. I think I ate my weight in strawberries, which is no mean feat, since I weigh quite a bit. Lotsa donut-pastry thingies, but fortunately one woman made piles of just scrambled eggs, and someone else made little sausages. Got home after midnight, and managed to sleep in until 7 this morning. Felt good, but...
  7. This is why true Seattlites don't carry umbrellas. We need that daily rinse to keep fresh.

  9. Wisdom from the wall of the lighting booth at the high school: "When presented with a choice between two evils, I choose the one I haven't tried before."
  10. Most of my weekday meals are ~ 4 ounces of chicken breast with 1 - 2 cups of assorted veggies in a soup-type format. Sometimes I have a bit of rice in there. In the morning I may have a smaller bowl with a couple eggs thrown in. Lunch ususally has salad with it. Dinner includes a glass or two of wine. Weekends I eat scrambled eggs and fish mostly....

  15. I also chose not to be tested. I sent my PCP a list of all the things that got better after I went gluten-free and she said "great! good job figuring it out!" A year or so into the diet I was seeing some doc (rheumatologist? don't remember) for assorted issues. He sent a Celiac panel despite me telling him I'd be gluten-free for a year. The results...
  16. He looks so sad! He already is missing you. :(
  17. I, personally, go with the label. It's more than just wheat, do be sue you're looking for all the right words. I limit the 'manufactured in a facility that also....', and I really really avoid 'made on the same lines as...'.Do your best, and you'll figure out what guidelines are appropriate for your family as you go along.
  18. I would think those flame throwing things would be more popular for that......
  19. Yup. I didn't feel like mentioning that I was the one who took the flat off, tossed it into the truck (without getting dirty) and put the spare on in the first place. There's a distinct difference between 'can' and 'want to'.
  20. Not drug busting agents? Tire fixed -FREE!! " And would you mind putting the spare back for me [bat bat] it's soooo heavy  " Men are such suckers.
  21. You get a new 'auto pilot'. It just takes a while.
  22. I've never had a problem finding food when travelling. Get a hot water pot, or pan when you get there so you can cook anything anywhere. Hard cheese (from the market) last several days in a backpack. Fruits and veggies a couple days, meats until lunch (or dinner if you buy them later in the day). Potato chips are ubiquitous and labeled in several languages...
