  1. Just curious how many of you have actually gone on a hay ride? I use straw in my chicken pen all the time. There's some seeds, and a lot of dust. I'm also allergic to wheat so I would have a bad reaction.....if I had a reaction, which I don't. I have sat in straw bales, or had to handle it excessively with my hands, and in an enclosed area I...
  2. It would not be unreasonable to get everyone tested, and yes, a gluten free diet is safe, and generally very healthy since it involves a lot fewer processed foods.
  3. -3 tide today. The pirate and I walked squelched around the bay and he pointed out all the boats at anchor that were now stuck in the mud. Very pretty day for the northwest in May.
  4. What Lisa and Peter said.
  5. This is extremely unlikely anyway. In all probability, whatever your issue with wheat is, you are done with it for life. Additional issues that might arise with celiac disease would be treated as the arose anyway, so there's no compelling reason to have the diagnosis in your medical record. Why is it important to YOU to pursue a diagnosis? If you could...
  6. try writing out the name with a few spaces.
  7. Woot! Scored on Pamela's bread mix at the outlet store. $1.99 per bag!
  8. and don't bring apples Welcome back Shroomie!
  9. Yes honey, and they achieved their goal - you bought it. In my world, the babies, including Dufus Drumstick the turkey have all managed to get themselves up the ramp and into the coop. Yay!! I was tired of chasing peeping babies around trying to get them up to bed while their frantic mom ran up and down the ramp trying to get them up to follow her...

  11. Yep. And if they do like their bodies, then they have issues with their hair or nose or something else ....
  12. Looks like a bit too much tapioca. The outside is flaky, but the inside is rubbery, like Brazilian cheese rolls. Tastes ok when hot, but I'm not sure how it'll be once it cools. The goo seems to be more like ricotta cheese after baking, so maybe I'll search down a cheesecake recipe for the rest of it.
  13. You could always (cheerfully) respond with something like "Cheer up! Maybe you'll get diagnosed with cancer!" Or some other ridiculous thing.
  14. Still gummy in the middle. I turned it down and left it in.
  15. Just put it in the oven. How long d'ya suppose I should bake it? an hour? It was cake-batter like.
  16. Well. So. I wanted to make sour cream by culturing cream with a bit of yogurt. I must have gotten a bad batch of yogurt because I ended up with a pot of warm, slightly sour cream. I ran a couple runs of it through my food processor to make butter, but the last bit was the most yogurt-like (although still very very thin) and it wouldn't process into...
  17. Chicken soup, in the crockpot.
  18. I used to, but then couldn't when I became anemic. I did once, post-everything-fixed, but the guy did such a horrible job at the needle stick I haven't been back. My iron was back up to normal for me, and I didn't really feel all that tired.
  19. Maybe. Your phone could have 'sectioned' in such a way that the site didn't understand.
