  2. cooked rice recooked with milk and sugar and some cinnamon. pumpkin with some butter/sugar and cinnamon. baked/microwaved potatoes with scrambled eggs or bacon or salt and pepper buy a bunch of root veggies you've never tried, cut them in to similar sizes, drizzle with olive oil and bake until soft.
  3. Rice and potatoes are whole foods. Stir frys, soups, stews, throw everything in a crockpot and see what comes out 6 hours later, a layer of sliced potatoes in a pan, cover with chicken, put some slice onions on top of the chicken, salt and pepper, baked.
  4. You could get a little cooler for the car: Open Original Shared Link. Get some lunch meat, cheese, whatever at a store and you are set.
  5. Do you mean this particular board? Or for the people that have a local support group they're in contact with?
  6. ah. If you are already friends, you have a negative sign which means you'll remove that person as a friend if you click again. I think I must have removed her the first time.
  7. It has something to do with adding people as friends. I clicked on Karen's to see if it would tell me what it meant, and I think I added her as a friend.
  8. POST!!!!!!! Not the big recipes, but the condiments, rubs, etc.
  9. I did it in the food processor and it took about ten minutes.
  10. Thanks. I didn't go backwards far enough. I found quarts of cream marked down to 70 cents. It's like the universe was calling me to make buttuh!
  11. I just made butter after a previous poster (sorry, can't find the thread) mentioned how easy it was in a food processor (way cool!!!). I also saw Peter posted about taco seasoning - and it's so easy to make your own. I thought I'd put in a few links to making your own ingredients. Others? 12. Keep in mind that the antibodies in your blood don't show up until there has been some level of damage to your intestine. So you will be damaging your intestine without producing antibodies. There are grey areas, and it is your body and your life, but try to weigh the possible risks against any benefit before you make such a decision.
  13. You need to add to your knowledge store the information that Butch likes to drag things around - teddy bears, onion skins, trash bags.... cabbages???
  14.  Seriously. I've looked everywhere.
  15. I did the same thing!! Scary about those tornadoes. I can't imagine being at home and hearing sirens while your kids are at school! I'm glad they're all home. In my news, I've lost half a cabbage somewhere in my house. Hoping it turns ups sooner, rather than later.
  16. I got snowed on yesterday morning on the way to the boat. It's normally in the 50's by now.
  17. tostadas with cheese; Auto-correct wants to make my first word "dastards".
  18. The scary thing is, there is no way to know how sick you'll get. It might be mild, or it might be horrendous. A co-workers BIL ended up in the ER when he decided to challenge. If you really want to eat a cupcake, do it while you're at home, and be prepared to be incapacitated for several days, just in case.
  19. sauteed veggies with eggs and a bit of leftover steak sliced in.
  20. Or is it more "real" because it came from a freezer? OK, this line of conversation has to stop.
  21. Reminds me of a non-food-related story someone told. She had just started a new job, and had to tell her boss that she was pregnant. I'll just tell it as she told it: Friend: "Well, you know that medical appointment I had? So.....it turns out I'm pregnant." New boss: "oh.........and.......is there a father?" (friend is unmarried) Friend: "Yes...
  22. While I applaud you for investigating all avenues, I'm pretty sure people have tried pretty much everything. As IH said, if something made a difference, it would be well known by now. It really does get easier as you get more into the lifestyle, and we are all here to help you learn new coping mechanisms. It really is ok to let go of the past, and there...
  23. Hang in there and think positive. A previous poster with miscarriages recently gave birth to twins, so I'm sending you similar multiple good thoughts.
  24. There are no "Celiac genes", there are only genes that are associated with celiac disease.
