  1. "Wheat Free" doen't always equal "Gluten Free" Be careful!!
  2. Sounds like Celiac. I went gluten free 2 months ago and have lost weigth to my surprise. I went from 135 to 125. I still feel like poop, it hasn't been that long. Don't get me wrong, I feel so so so much better, just not as good as I would like to feel. I went through (still) depression and anxiety attacks. Still very tired, sleep apnea adds to that...
  3. The food store is Whole Foods Market an Aloma Ave / Fairbanks near Rollins College. I'm not sure about the beer, i don't drink (mostly because of age) I'll keep an eye out though for ya
  4. Disney will search your bags and I have brought food in the parks before. I think it's just Animal Kingdom that you can't bring outside food in. You may want to put it in your pocket just in case because they have heightend security a bit over the past few months. Outback, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bucca De Beppo, Don Pablo's is a good bet when it comes...
  5. YEAHHH! I live in Orlando!! There's plenty of places to eat down here, and a great health food store in Winter Park! I drive 40 minutes to go there. As far as flying, you'll be fine. I fly Orlando-NY almost every 2 months to visit family. These guys know what they're doing I don't want to freak you out by saying this but it usually works... if anything...

    ARCHIVED Day 3

Sorry your allergic to EVERYTHING! As far as being hungery, I eat alot of meat to fight hunger during the dat. Eggs in the morning, lunch meat during the day and chicken or pork ect. at night. Large portions of these should help. I stay away from sode, it's bad for you anyway. I drink ALOT of water, coffee and Arizona Green Tea. Water gets boring, so...

  8. My younger brother, 3 1/2 years old, JUST started to use the potty. It took his doctor yelling at him to get him there! And some cool underwear!
  9. I get this too. Mostly in my fingers and toes. I believe it is connected to Celiac. At least that is what I have heard.
  10. Hello! The only Whole Foods Market around here is on Aloma Ave. in Winter Park... It's just north of downtown Orlando. It's the Fairbanks exit off of I-4. Fairbanks turns into Aloma. As far as restaurants, Disney is so caring and accomodating!! The chef will come out and talk to you at the restaurants and in Epcot I go to the mexican place and get the...
  11. Thanks everyone! I'll be going to a sleep clinic for tests very soon. Hopefully that will determine what's wrong. I'm pretty sure it's stress, but we'll see
  12. My boyfriend calls me "gluten-head" it's silly and isn't really suiting seeing as I don't eat gluten, but cute none the less. Another one he made up is "grinch-a-saurus-rex" for my mood swings I got from being a "gluten-head".

  14. Maybe the mystery cookie is actually the marshmellow square? That's the only thing that I can think of and I don't trust it anway. Major CC alarm!!
  15. I'm also quilty. I've been smoking for 6 years, despite the fact that I'm 20. I smoke Salem, which DO have malt in them. It doesn't really seems to effect me too bad, but maybe that's why I still don't feel 100%. I don't know. I agree with everyone- I gave up all the foods I loved, I'm having my cig where you like it or not!
  16. Im in Orlando... very long drive. I wish I was closer.
  17. I'm in Orlando... kind of far
  18. My boyfriend's friend and her family are in town and we went to see them the other day. I talked alot with her about celiac and the places I can safely eat at. I haden't eaten all day and was STARVING. She commented on a restuarant that they enjoy and said "it wouldn't be a good idea to eat there tonight". A few hours later... guess where we ended up...
  19. Last night is not the first time that this has happened... I was so afraid to go to sleep last night because everytime I was almost asleep I would wake up gasping for air. After that it was like I had to tell my brain to breathe. My heart rate was getting faster and faster everytime I woke up. This has happened 4 times in the 6 weeks. Could it be stress...
  20. My younger sister is severly allergic to peanuts as well (Epi-pen on hand). I don't think it really effects her stomach though. It seems to only bring on a rash and swelling. Not to sure though.
  21. Hello! I am lactose intolerant as well. My sister recommended "Digestive Advantage" pills. They are not prescription and are common in many food stores. They run about $9 for 32 pills and you take one a day. Some people (like me) need to take 2 a day, but it's worth it if I can have half and half in my coffee again! I still get a little bit of gas...
  22. I've been feeling really down lately about everything. I hope it's just the celiacs. I can't figure it out. I have a wonderful boyfriend who treats me like a queen and an awesome, supportive family. I love my job and my boys (2 cats and a dog). It just seems lately (past week or so) that I don't even want to get out of bed in the morning. I cry over...
  23. It very well could have been the chicken. You should grill it on top of aluminum foil and away from the other food on the grill to avoid cross contamination. The symptoms that you listed are (what seems to me) "normal." I'll get alot of them as well. My weirdest one is white flecks on my fingernails. I heard somewhere that was related to Celiac. Some...
  24. Most flavors are, but my sister (also a celiac) told me that she heard they are made on the same equipment that the non gluten-free ships are made on. Guess it just depends on the bag you get. I haven't had this problem yet, but if you feel sick after eating them, throw the bag out and get another one just to be safe.
  25. Hello! I've had alot of luck at Whole Foods Market. Check out their website and see if one is around you. Try "Think Thin" meal replacement bars. There are alot of flavors and they aren't too bad. Also, Mr. Krispers baked rice crisps. You can get sour cream, bbq and salt and pepper. Arrowroot cookies, they are farely common in basic grocery stores....
