The New Celiac Pocket Dictionary just arrived in the mail today from the Canadian Celiac Assosiation. I'm very excited because it has EVERYTHING in it, what it is, and whether or not it's allowed. It's small so we can just carry it around! If anyone has questions about what's allowed, post here and I'll post the answer. I have my handy-dandy pocket dictionary here lol.

I got mine through the Canadian Celiac Assosiation, of which I am a member.

I am so excited I can't wait to get mine in the mail. It is so nice that they are mailing a new one to everyone of the members.

Here is a link to the page if any non members were wondering about it. It is only $7.95 for a non member to buy.

I obtained a copy of the previous (1992) edition within a month of being diagnosed. I bought a copy at a specialty store that sells, among other things, gluten free food. I too received a complimentary copy of the new edition in today's mail. I used it very frequently at first, but over time I got to know most of the common things, so I don't need it as often. I still use if, though, and if you are new to the diet it is a must have.

You don't have to be a member to buy a copy, but if you are not in Canada you should know that some of the things are declared gluten-free based on Canadian labelling rules, which could differ in other contries. For example, on a Canadian food label "starch" is corn starch unless another source is explicitly stated. I know this is NOT true in the US.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
