Someone suggested a popsicle thread. No one ever got around to it. Well I found this recipe posted on facebook today and it is next on my hit list. I am heading to the store tomorrow because as wonderful as these low/mid 90s have been the past few days, we're heading back to 100ish this week. Trips to the store here happen before 10 or 11 because I'm not getting caught out in the heat after that!

These I'll put in molds. I got my molds for $1 each last summer, they're super cheap if you check dollar stores, check at the end of summer (not helpful now I know) or aren't picky about shapes. As we have a little more money to spend on kitcheny things, I'll indulge in some more exciting molds than the plain round stick ones I have now.

I make popsicles often....one "recipe" I use is....take a can of peaches (I use the ones that don't have added sugar, just sweetened by pear juice) and put the whole can of peaches in the blender....sometimes I add a couple small packets of stevia to sweeten a bit more....and just blend....then pour the puree into the molds...you can use most any kind of canned fruit this way.....then I make chocolate pudding from scratch and pour that into the molds to make fudgesicles....I have soaked some dried mangos in water for a day or two, blend that and pour into the molds, I sure liked them.........I also got my molds from the dollar store, think it was the dollar tree...there was 4 molds in one form for $1....

We have tried various popsicles.  I puree strawberries and placed them in the molds.  These are refreshing  on a hot day.   I made a big hit with the kids when we made 3 layer yogurt popsicles.  We put in a plop of one color of yogurt, a plop of another, and finally a plop with the original color.  They looked like something special.  They tasted good!

I have had some trouble getting the popsicles out of their molds.  I run cold water over the mold, but one has to be quick or they refreeze.  Never pull forcefully on the stick, but coax it with slight warming and spinning carefully.  The children pulled out several sticks.  They can be thawed and refrozen or eaten if you get them out.

For popsicles that could be difficult to get out of the mold, and always ones that are milk based, I don't use molds. I use little paper or plastic bathroom cups and popsicle sticks. That way I can just peel away the cup without all the hassle.

I make smoothies (well, really it's just blended fruit, nothing else) and freeze it.  Different primary fruits give you different textures.

Cheesecake popsicles? Don't mind if I do! This is why I do recipes for popsicles. I have never been satisfied with fruit/yogurt/koolaid/juice frozen. I want something far more exciting than that. I think these would be wonderful as cherry cheesecake popsicles. Maybe next week if I'm feeling spunky I'll come back with a white chocolate macadamia nut or chocolate covered pretzel popsicle recipe. I think I also have a bacon popsicle recipe.

My favourites to make are unusual, like cardamom lime or vanilla bean lavender or even honey chipotle. I love popsicles! Right now I have lemon granita ones.

Love2travel, your mention of lavender made me think of a type of candy I had years and years ago - violet drops. I used to get them in the candy shop at Sturbridge Village in Mass. They were not a hard candy like lollipops are, but the texture of Necco wafers or SweetTarts. They were HEAVENLY and I have never tasted anything similar.

Have you ever made anything with violets, and if you have, could you share the recipe?

While we were at the fair last summer we got popsicles and I had an avocado pistachio one. My husband thought I was quite clearly insane. He had some berry something or other I'm sure, because that would be his go to if we were getting popsicles.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗

I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again

You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
