What Brand Of Turkey For Thanksgiving?

Just curious what people are buying.  What brands are considered safe?  We are hosting this year and I have my eye on a Whole Foods free range turkey, but they are very expensive!

I have never seen a fresh turkey with gluten. A few might have a sealed packet to make gravy with flour, but the turkey is gluten-free.

Just read the ingredients, but watch out for those with gravy packets stuffed inside.  I pulled out a turkey a few months ago from my freezer and the package leaked!  No turkey for me, but served it to my gluten loving friends and family.

I have a frozen Market Pantry Turkey that has a gravy packet. The turkey says it has broth in it. The gravy packet lists wheat but not the turkey itself. Do you think it is safe to eat as long as I throw out the gravy packet?

Just throw out the gravy packet and eat! Well....cook it first....but you know.... :)

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
