Recurrent Nightmares

I've been having recurrent nightmares about not having anything that I can eat. My dream is that I'm in college (I haven't been in undergrad for almost 10 years, but am thinking about going back to grad school). I wasn't diagnosed with celiac in college (though I'm pretty sure I've had it since child hood). The food is all buffet style and in my dream every food item has gluten. I can't convince the cooks that I need gluten free food and get them to prepare it for me. In some of the dreams they say I need paperwork from a doctor saying I need gluten free food. But for some reason I can't get a hold of the paperwork to give them. In other dreams there is no one to talk to. I end up not having anything to eat for days. Yes this wouldn't happen in real life, but my dreams have no logic. I've had similar dreams in the past that I've visited my parents and there hasn't been any gluten free food for me to eat, but nothing this consistently. I've had multiple dreams a week for the past couple weeks. Other dreams i've had is been me realizing I've eaten something with gluten in it after i've eaten it. But again only sometimes.

LOL  I've had a dream like that too but usually it's dealing with finding foods for my picky gluten-free kids.  LOL

Anxiety dreams can be soooo strange.  My usual anxiety dream dates back to my substituting days when I would dream that I arrived at the job with absolutely no resources left for me.  Ugh.

I had them too in the first year.  I seen lots of peeps on the forum say they have had them too.  They will fade as you relax with your new diet.

I find that I have dreams like that about whatever if I'm obsessing about something.  I was working at a place that I HATED and would dream about that place every night--nightmares.  They went away after I left thankfully.  It's hard not to obsess over food early on and obviously Celiac won't go away, but as it gets easier, more routine, I hope that they go away for you.

that's why i drink :)

(lolz - j/k i got plenty o reasons why i drink)  i used to have doozies of nightmares - always stuck away from home/on a trip and somebody does me a 'favor' and contaminates everything i can eat.  they have since subsided to one good one every now and again - NOT every time i close my eyes like they were in the beginning  <_<  adjusting to the 'new normal' i suppose.  new brain patterns and all that jazz...

My re-occurring nightmare is that I have forgotten myself and eaten something with gluten--usually cake--and I am awaiting the reactions to start.  Just feelings of dread and anxiety.  I wake up all upset and then remind myself that it was a bad dream and I haven't eaten anything.

Cold/flu or gluten poisoning? Hello. I've had another similar episode. I find it very difficult to differentiate between the symptoms of a cold or flu and those caused by gluten poisoning. In fact, I don't know if my current worsening is due to having eaten something that disagreed with me or if the cold I have has caused my body, which is hypersensitive, to produce symptoms similar to those of gluten poisoning.

I'm no longer dealing with constipation. I got my liver test last month and it was in normal range. Two years ago I did have a vitamin D deficiency but I'm know taking vitamin D3 pills. Last month I got my vitamin D checked and it was in normal range. I don't believe I've had my choline checked. However, I do drink almond milk eat Greek yogurt on a daily basis.

Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) can be associated with low ferritin and iron deficiency. Once Celiac Disease (1% of the population affected) has been ruled out by tests the next step is to check for Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (10% of the population affected) by eliminating gluten for a trial period, then re-introduce Gluten Challange. Have you been supplementing Iron? How are your liver enzymes? Low levels of ferritin indicate iron deficiency, while  59% transferrin saturation indicates high iron levels.  Possibly indicating Fatty Liver Disease.  Choline is crucial for liver health, and deficiency is a known trigger for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver.  Some experts say that less than 10% eat the the Food and Nutrition Board established Adequate Intake that are based on the prevention of liver damage. Severe constipation and hemorrhoids may be linked to a bile or choline deficiency.  "Ninety-five percent of phospholipids (PLs) in bile is secreted as phosphatidylcholine or lecithin."  Fatty acid composition of phospholipids in bile in man   Deficiency of these bile salts causes the bile to get thick. Some people with Celiac Disease are misdiagnosed with Gall Bladder bile issues.  Removal of the gallbladder provides only temporary relief. Whether or not celiac disease or NCGS are your issues you need to look at your vitamin D blood level.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.
