I have noticed my face really breaking out lately and not sure if there is a coorlation or not. What face washes or make up are out there that is safe. Thanks

Dove soap and mineral foundation. My kid uses a tea tree oil soap that is labeled gluten-free. Her skin is oily. Might be a food that triggers. I have Rosacea and things like red wine and garlic (known allergen for me) triggers it. Try keeping a food journal.

I use a PLAIN Neutrogena bar of soap. My face is clearer than it's been in ages.

I actually do not wear make up, but have heard fabulous reviews of red apple lipstick and Tarte . Now for skin care (washes and things) , I use Andalou naturals. All but a small list of items are gluten free. I know some may think I may be over the top in my vigilance but after having that substance wreck so much of my life I'm over and done with it and avoid it at all costs. But I'd suggest the brands above to see if any of them look good to you.

I switched to using all Alaffia products.  Their entire line is gluten-free, and I believe organic and fair-trade as well.  Since I began using their face wash and lotion, my skin has been a lot clearer, even after accidental gluten exposure, which typically results in a serious acne outbreak.  Their shea multipurpose cream with neem and other botanicals also helped a lot with a bout of DH I was dealing with.  I am super chemically sensitive and react to many things, but I tolerate their products very well and find them soothing to inflamed skin.  The other thing that helped my acne was taking Nordic Naturals purified fish oil supplement, since I was low in omega-3s.  Not sure if you take fish oil or not.

I've started using this that I found at Whole Foods.  No guessing if it's gluten-free  :) Open Original Shared Link

All Physicians Formula make-up is gluten-free, so I use that too.

Tammy, who is saying they aren't safe for celiacs? Are you saying that is stated on the product packaging itself or that you are reading where people on forums like this one are claiming they aren't safe? Who is "they"?

If a product is labelled "gluten-free" it is considered to be safe for people with celiac disease (in the USA they need to test below 20 ppm). Some people prefer to eat only foods that are certified gluten-free, which are supposed to test below 10 ppm, however, they don't always test this low.

Why are so many gluten free items not safe for celiacs. I read labels all the time. I don’t know how many times they say that and are not safe for people who have celiacs. So confused. Help….

I’m recovering from diverticulitis and she feels this will help my overall digestive health.

Welcome to the forum, @Jay Heying! What is the reason your doctor is recommending this?
