When a recipe for baking calls for coconut milk, does it mean in the can or box?  I'm so confused.

Where is the recipe?  Usually it's canned and it'll ask for full fat or light, sometimes refrigerated if making a whipped topping with the fat off the top of the can.

I've looked at several recipes for cookies, pie, and cake lately, and they say is coconut milk.

It's really going to depend on the recipe. Usually when its the boxed kind (not in a can) I have seen recipes call for "coconut beverage".  Without seeing the recipes though it's tough to call.  We've been dairy free because of life threatening allergies for 8 years here so I've seen both used.

If it is a milk substitute then you know it is the coconut beverage.  Recipes rarely call for coconut milk from a can unless it is the cream they are after.

Either one will work.

My feeling is that histamine intolerance/MCAS is doesn't get enough press in the medical world and is greatly underdiagnosed.

I just saw in Trent’s response something about the vitamins. Good to know.

Have you heard anything about being celiac and pills, vitamins not absorbing into your system?  I hope that makes sense. Basically, you don’t get the full effect. There is something that helps the absorption, like Vit C?? Thanks for all of your help.
