Toothpaste?

So, while I’m on the “weeding out nonsensical things that I don’t actually need to be worried contain gluten” train, I’m wondering about toothpaste.

i used to use Colgate and I know that they are gluten free. But, I wanted to start using a toothpaste without sulphate because I know that SLS is hard on your mouth. I switched to Tom’s and felt like it was useless and I may have well been brushing with nothing. So then I switched to Sensodyne Pronamel Multi-action. It seems fine, but then I read all kinds of stuff online that says Sensodyne isn’t gluten free. Their website says they don’t add gluten to products but can’t confirm that they are gluten free because they don’t test their finished products.

Do any of you use this brand? Should I switch? I don’t know how much I should be worried about it but I figured this is something else I should ask about.

I have many chemical allergies as well as mint and dyes. I buy Andrea Rose gluten free vanilla toithpaste. It does have floride. Get great dental checkups and since going gluten free my gums are not bleeding. Andrea Rose is for fibromyalgia salicylite free but they are gluten free as well. Found the only dye free guiafenison from them too. They sell makeup as well. Been using them for 10 years.

I do a quick rinse with Lysterine, then brush with my $14 Phillips Sonicare brush and it cleans the tobacco and coffee stains with out toothpaste. In fact my teeth are cleaner than they have been for many years. The mouthwash softens the plaque the sonic brush cleans. No need for any abrasive toothpaste and as a side effect no gum disease. Its not like we are rodents and can keep wearing them down in the race for whiter teeth.

I use Sensodyne.  Most people don't care if a toothpaste is gluten-free.  Why add tot he cost of the product by testing?

So just because something hasn’t been tested, we shouldn’t steer clear of it? We should rely on the ingredients in the product, and if the manufacturers say that they don’t add any gluten to their products, we should be content, is this right? A lot of cosmetic companies have said this to me. “We don’t add gluten to ....... but because we don’t test the final product and we can’t confirm that outside manufacturers process their products on gluten free equipment, we can’t guarantee that our products are gluten free.” Tarte recently made this statement and people lost their minds. I still use their stuff. I believe that this is a similar statement from GSK about Sensodyne. I just wasn’t sure if that means I shouldn’t trust it.

I contacted the Sensodyne manufacturer two years ago.  This is what they said:

Thank you for your enquiry regarding presence of gluten and related products in Sensodyne and Pronamel range of oral products. Sensodyne and Pronamel range of oral products do not contain gluten as an ingredient either in the raw materials or in the list of ingredients used in Sensodyne formulations.

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSK CH) only uses the highest quality raw material specifications for use in its products. GSK CH does not screen/test final product for gluten, instead GSK CH relies on detailed responses from suppliers of the raw materials which are used in the supply chain for these products. These raw material suppliers have respectively confirmed the absence of gluten in their specifications. As GSK CH does not test for gluten we are unable to provide a specific detection method or threshold for gluten and its derivatives.

So this sounds to me like it’s fine. Right?

I usually use coconut oil.  sometimes add calcium carbonate and peppermint oil.  spit it out in a cup not the sink to avoid clogs in drain.

I called Sensodyne this morning and the woman I spoke with put me on hold for a few minutes to look things up. She said that she CAN CONFIRM that Sensodyne toothpaste DOES NOT contain any gluten ingredients, and that none of the products that are used to make it contain gluten ingredients.

But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets for disability because I show no signs of celiac BECAUSE IM GLUTENFREE! Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver. After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values.  Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.  I use them as a gluten free substitute for a peanut butter sandwich.  Try her on grass fed, pasture fed milk. While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I see it everyday on my feeds.  They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts.  I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field.  Some days I would just like to scream.  So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach them properly. I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
