So i recently had a baby and 3 months postpartum I started celery juicing and after juicing my stomach would be in so much pain. So I stopped it for a while and a whole month no pain or issues. I made an apt with a GI doctor to just get my blood work checked everything came back great except the Ema it was 1:20 he said it was strange because all the other Celiac panel test were negative my Ttg and the genetic screening even. So I made an apt with another doctor for second opinion she stated that it’s so low positive she wouldn’t be worried especially since across the border everything is negtive. I currently don’t have any stomach pain but it’s literallt driving me insane that I had a positive screen for my endomysial screen. If anyone can pleaseeeee help me with any insight it would be greatly appreciated !

Hi, Celery is one of the top allergens, so it could be a reaction to celery.

By the way, I merged your two similar threads.  The forum rules don't allow duplicate threads,  They make things confusing.  But no problem, carry on! :)

The EMA test is the most expensive of the celiac blood tests because it is not machine run, but done by humans.  A lab mistake could have been made.  With negative genes, the rest of the panel and symptoms eliminated, chances are you do not have celiac disease, but you can always get retested in six months, if you have symptoms or think celiac disease could be an issue.

Making dietary changes can have adverse reactions to anyone.  Consuming too much of a good thing can easily make you sick.  Ask my then five year old when I let her consume as much ice cream as she wanted until she made herself sick.  Or think of a vet’s advice about changing a dog’s diet dramatically (e.g. buying a different brand).

Thank you everyone I went for a second opinion just to re do the blood work hoping I can find out a answer. Last week I had the upper stomach pain again but no celery juice since November so I’m at a loss ? but all of my celiac panel including the genetics were negative just that ema which the second doctor said 1:20 is on the low side not sure if that’s true

Since you have abdominal pain, did you see a Gastroenterologist?  It might be something other than celiac disease.    Remember, the EMA is manually done, so greater chance for errors.

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
