I think that is where she is located. does anyone use her food items? the cinnamon rolls (large) are quite pricey---- more than everbody eats from N.Y. Also anyone have any comments on her other breads and so on? I keep trying from different places to try to find the best gluten-free foods. with the grandchildren being celiac I have to keep their interest peaked or they get so bored with what they can eat. I guess I'm that way too so I shouldn't blame it all on the kids!!!!!Shipping is going to kill me though!.!!!!!

thanks

mamaw

I keep meaning to drive down their to try it out. I've grown lazy to driving. I used to commute 60 miles on freeway each day one way. Now, I am too lazy to drive the 15 miles via freeway to try out Deby's.

maybe I'll go tomorrow or something. I have the day off...

I was there about a month ago and walked away with: Gluten free Brownie (B+), Gluten free Chicken Cordon Blue with Mushroom Risotto (A-), "Country White Bread"(Expensive for its small size, and second or so ingredient is clarified butter, but tastes great and is NOT dry at all; A-), a Large gluten-free Pizza with homemade dough and sauce A++++ Fantastic!, and pasta (name brand gluten-free pasta; Shells: B; Penne: D+(gross consistency everytime).

Havent tried their mixes yet, I really need to get back down there, but its sooo far away!

you would be the first fellow celiac besides my sister that have ever met!

My name is kim. I had never heard of Deby's until now. Maybe we could have lunch!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
