Celiac symptoms white tongue GERD?

Pre and post celiac diagnoses I have experienced strange symptoms with my tongue. Specifically a white film on my tongue that covers a significant portion and sometimes is slightly sore. It seems to be random and show up only in the morning. I tested taking antacid meds as I thought it was possibly acid coming up at night. It seems to help a bit but not 100%. Not sure if this is celiac symptom associated or something totally different but it started to happen pre-diagnosis with other digestive issues. It has been happening for almost 2years now and my doc and I cant seem to identify the real problem. Anybody else experience this? Any thoughts?

I assume that thrush was ruled out.  Have you googled “white film on tongue”?  Look for photos.  My E.R. doc neighbor uses Dr. Google all the time.  That and his medical training can help him make a diagnosis.

Ooooo, Vitamin B-12 and folate deficiencies were one reason for a white film on tongue.  Has your doctor ordered a mineral and vitamin level blood panel?  That is standard for celiac disease follow-up care.

This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):

I'm not in any clinical trials, can I ask why you are so focused on this particular one? There are now several celiac disease potential treatment drugs undergoing clinical trials.

I did well on gluten-free, but continued to have issues a year down the road.  Testing for food allergies and sensitivities revealed severe IgE allergies to yeast and dairy as well as food sensitivities to 23 other foods.  I got better after taking out those foods, but it was not until the doctor recommended I go completely grain free did all my issues resolve.  No oats, corn, rice etc. for me for the past 10 years or so.  I am actually better at 72 than I was in my 40's!
