With a little reservation, I would like to say that I grew up across the street from her and I am still in contact with her family.

I can get information to her. Please keep in mind that she is in the business of finance with her position, but she could certainly direct our interest to writers that could help us in our publicity issues.

Talk about a big fish.

Can we brain storm and find a way to get Time Mag. to do an article, yes. I am not the same person I was before Celiac. I was alway proud of the way I spoke and wrote, it's not the same now.

Several, well worded letter mailed to Ann would get her attention and I could write a cover letter asking for reseach from her team to reseach Celiac Disease.

If we can get a packet together, I will send it off to her.

What do you all think?

Lisa

You can count me in! Does it matter that it's coming from Canada?

It is late, and I will wait for other replys, US or Canadian. If so, a personal letter from those who have interest should be sent to my by personal E-mail....jimbaker@aol.com. in order to copy and add to the portfolio.

Personal stories about Dr.

McD' fiasco

Labeling issues

Health care issues

Unknowlegable Doctors!!!

Lack of Understanding of celiac disease

Children with developmental issues........etc.

Please address these issues to Mrs. Ann S. Moore, Chairman and Chief Executive of Time/Warner Inc. New York, New York.

Or pick up a Time Magazine and look up the address. I can get it to her.

Good idea--I would also mention something about the delay in diagnosis or not being diagnosed and how it causes many to develop diseases that were probably able to be prevented, and how that ends up costing them, insurance companies and the rest of us $$$ down the line.

Count me in!

Just so you know, there was a two page article about Celiac Disease in Time Magazine in July 2004. I don't have the name of the author off-hand.

The reason I know this is it is the reason I was diagnosed, thanks to my mom reading it :)

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
