Cool! I like Danna Korn's books a lot.

My husband was telling me that he met the guy who wrote the first "for dummies" book (I guess he lives in our area), and since he has it copyrighted he makes a ton of royalties off of all the copycat books! It would be nice to be that guy.....

How cool is that! I love the "For Dummies" books !

I don't know Shirley - I bought the For Dummies book on computers and I was still a dummy when I finished it :lol: . I just pre-order Donna Korn's book as I thought it would be handy to loan out when my doctor sends me another patient to teach about the food. Not that I am an expert, because I am not. But, I am able to steer them towards stores and what to buy to help them live with celiac disease.

Thanks for letting us know! I loved her Wheat Free Worry free book, so this one should be good as well.

Oh ... I don't know if they make me any smarter, but I sure love their funny comments  They just crack me up. Especially the 'Golf for Dummies' book. My golf game hasn't improved a whole lot, but we sure can laugh out there now, so it makes it more fun :rolleyes:

Off subject, But your kitty looks so much like ours.

Ours has a leopard pattern on him, and he's starting to get some orange, too, especially on his underside. He is not totally full grown yet. He is the coolest cat ever! Except when he's a snob and doesn't want anything to do with me. But when he's feeling cuddly, he's my baby! He was a stray who adopted us. He started out as Chloe and now he's Joey. Long story, but apparently, it is very difficult to tell the difference between a female and a neutered male!!!

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.

I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50. US 2024 - Increased Risk of Herpes Zoster Infection in Patients with Celiac Disease 50 Years Old and Older Sweden 2018 - Increased risk of herpes zoster in patients with coeliac disease - nationwide cohort study
