I just found this celiacsociety.com site, and they have a bunch of restaurant lists showing what is gluten free and what isn't. Oddly enough, Burger king seems to have more for us to eat than Mickey D! Here's the link:

I would becareful of some of the things that they are listing, i went to the manufactures list, and there are some things I found that were a little off, for example, the guiltless gourmet line has been confirmed gluten-free and they have the tortilla chips listed not safe....? And the duncan hines homestyle frosting which i believe is not gluten-free now, is listed as safe...so just be aware... ;)

Hate to say it guys but you just cannot trust a cook at any restraunt to use a clean skillet to prepare your food. I have asked in the past and got a," sure we can" and ended up sick anyhow. I have resorted to eating at salad bars where i know the workers use gloves and the food is not sitting arround.

I have recieved many a heavy sigh from family members who ask me what can we make you, say they understand but act in the end like my food prep is an added task or burden. All in all I just bring my own food.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
