Okay so me and the BF decided to go to the city on last thursady. We went into Penn station (w 34st) and the walked up to the Museum of Natural History (w 81st) we could have taken the subway but it was such a beautiful day that we decided to walk. After the museum we went down to (w71st) where Sambuca was located.

I walk in and asked about the gluten-free menu, and the manager happened to be standing right there and he was like sure here you go and sat us right away. It was an italian style meals and the food was AMAZING!!!!!! IT WAS SO SO SO SO GOOD! We ended up just eating right from the gluten-free menu because it was family size porpotions. We orded a chicken dish and a pasta dish. we did feel slightly under dressed, but its okay because it NYC and people expect that because of tourtist. The meal was about 85 (including tip) for two people and we only ordered two glasses of wine. We also ended up spliting the dessert. It was this amazing chocolate brownie!

The entire meal was amazing even the bread was great. So at the end, he puts these two mints on the table and I asked him is that gluten-free and he was like we called them and they can not garuntee that it is.....so the dumba$$ that I am I pop it in my mouth. We let me tell you by the time I got back to Penn Station, I felt so sick. And now 3 days later I still feel horrible.

I would def. go back there in a heartbeat and if anyone does go DONT EAT THE MINTS!

I have eaten at Sambuca several times pre-dx and always loved it. When I was first diagnosed and found out they had a gluten-free menu I was so psyched. I actually have yet to go there since being diagnosed but I will. :)

Thank you for all the excellent information. I moved from Wyoming to California. May be its where I am located but So far none of the Costco Kirkland brand I have looked at is labeled gluten free. Same with the Sam's Members Mark. The Kirkland nuts you mention all say they are processed in a plant that processes wheat.  I am going to keep checking. Thank you. The Azure Market looks promising 😁 Take care S

I’m glad you have a clear answer.  Some endoscopes have enough magnification for the doctor to see the damage during the procedure.

Welcome to the club!😉 This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):

I could not find the thread, but I recall at least one user who was drinking regular gluten beer daily but getting celiac blood tests done often (I think it was monthly) and doing a biopsy each year and all celiac disease tests were always negative. Everyone is different, but in general regular beer would be considered low gluten (not gluten-free!). I have no issues with Daura Damm, but those who are super sensitive might.
