Can binging on gluten foods cause gluten sensitivity?

hello. in december 2021, i started binging (without purging) on foods high in gluten, such as bread and cookies. i ate large quantities of them and i gained more than 10 kg in 2 months. i have recently starting to recover from my disorder and i eat normal quantities of food, but almost every time i eat pasta, bread, biscuits, and basically anything with gluten, i have stomach cramps and my stomach becomes so big it looks like i’m pregnant. i also have other symptoms, such as dizziness and brain fog. i would like to know if eating so much gluten has made me intolerant to it and if anyone has had a similar experience to mine. thanks

I doubt if your gluten binge caused gluten sensitivity. We are looking at a number of possibilities that would explain your symptoms when eating wheat-based products, including celiac disease, NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity), and SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) and possibly even an H.Pylori infection. The latter two would respond to any meal heavy in carbs, not just gluten grains. So, in that case, large amounts of sugar or starches (such as found in rice, potatoes and beans) would trigger these symptoms even if no gluten containing grain-based carbs were consumed.

In the case of celiac disease, you need the genetic potential plus some kind of triggering stress event (such as a viral infection but not limited to that) to develop active celiac disease.

Many years ago yes, after eating and going to bed, apparently my esophagus filled with food that my body rejected, the esophagus would lay against the Heart sack (pericardium?) and the heart would respond by becoming arrhythmic. That went away with the strict diet.

I was commenting on the report saying it did not mention migraines! Yes it does last paragraph says have not seen any evidence that Celiac cause migraines! I thought this was about truth?

It has been known for some years that celiacs suffer from migraines at a higher rate than the general populatation. It is an established symptom.
