Rachel, I hadn't read this yet...I just ate about 4 potato chips!

:lol::lol:

I totally racheled my chips...they're long gone...a whole bag! :o

I think I was around 4 in that pic. I just tried from work and can't load an avatar here either wonder what's up with that, lol. I have a couple of other photos I'll post one of them later.

The new pic is nice....my mom likes that pic too. Your hair is just like hers...hers has always been straight and long...no bangs....same dark brown too.

You also won't see ANY of my school pictures up...in fact I think I've destroyed most of them, lol...in almost every one of them, my hair was stupid.

:lol: Yeah my hair looked pretty stupid in my school pics too! I think it might've been my own fault though. :P

I hate all my school pics....plus I got the same Catholic School uniform on in every pic. Thankfully my mom didnt pick any of those pics....I would have had to change my mind about letting her decide what I put up.

Nope, he just ordered it...I didn't have to ask. I was going to, but I saw it on his list, so didn't. I think it was because I showed him the latest labs for my bloodwork and made a point to mention the low lymphocytes??? maybe???

Cool...I'm gonna ask him to order me the test. And then I'll know once and for all if maybe Lyme is attacking my cells. <_<

See me too, I had all that stuff, but no one has ever wanted to do hair analysis or metals testing or anything. I'm glad he's going to.

Is he giving you a metal test?? A urine challenge?? This is the main thing I wanna get done...hopefully he'll OK it this time. :)

He said that the chlorella could very well be what's causing my D.

I stopped taking my Chlorella. I returned it to WF actually. :P

I'm not sure if I was having problems with it...took too much of it or what. All I know is that it might have been the chlorella that made me vomit last weekend. It might have been a combination of the sauna and the chlorella...I'm not really sure.

I decided to stick with my charcoal and just taking stuff to build up minerals and amino acids in my body. Stuff to do in preparation for chelation...I'm not doing anything to try to move metals out right now. I think my body needs a good supply of some of the essentials before I start trying to chelate....that was what Dr. Amy had said..so I'm sticking to that.

I'm taking the minerals she gave me and seem to be doing ok right now...I'm also taking whey protein that Dr. S. wanted me on months ago but I never even opened the container and I've had it more than 6 months now. It was one of the things Dr. Amy had mentioned and since everything I read says that the minerals and amino acids are very important....I decided to just get brave and start taking what I'm suppossed to take.

I'm doing about 80% better than I was doing last week....so I guess my body wasnt really ready for chlorella yet. I'll wait till I see Amy again and have her ART test me for it and see if she wants me on it or not.

He wants me to experiment a bit and cut it out for a few days. I only took half a teaspoon this morning instead of a whole teaspoon, and so far no D! So now I'm pretty sure that's it...I ran out last week and didn't have D and didn't take as much today and no D. As soon as this bottle is used up (it's expensive and only lasts 7 days opened) I'll stop it all together for a week or so.

He is going to leave my other supplements alone for the time being until he sees my results.

He also asked if anyone had ever diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and I said no, I can't even get THAT, lol.

When he was asking me what all my Kaiser Dr.'s had diagnosed me with...I was like "Just my Graves Disease...nothing else...basically I just needed a shrink cuz I'm perfectly healthy."

He said "Geez...they didnt even give you the courtesy of a Fibromyalgia diagnosis??"

Nope...and lucky for them...somebody might have gotten punched if they tried that one on me.

Hes big on avoiding wheat, dairy and sugar....eating ice cream is a big no-no.

Hope you can get one of your old pictures up.

HA--WILL HAVE TO FIND IT FIRST.

LOVE YOURS BY THE BY..

Judy...I hope you can find a pic!!

I would love to see a childhood picture of you. :)

I had a session with Dr. Rick at HN today. I wasn't supposed to see him until next week, but Nancy wanted me to see him today since I haven't slept in 3 nights. The other nights I thought was maybe because I was anxious or excited about my appiontment yesterday, but I woke up at 2:00 a.m. last night and couldn't go back to sleep. Nancy didn't want me to get too sleep deprived so she had me see him today. We talked about a lot of things...the main gist is he thinks I should stop the chlorella at least for a while, so that makes two Drs, lol. He asked if I'd been more irritable lately and I said yes in fact I have and emotional too...he said chlorella can have that affect in some people. So looks like no more for me. :(

He wants me to continue to take the 5-HTP, Melatonin and valerian root. Dr. S like the 5-HTP and melatonin, but since I haven't been taking the valerian root he didn't comment on it.

Dr. Rick thinks I have slipped back a ways on the adrenal fatigue. He was trying to explain it simply and basically I was seeing some slow but steady progress and something just tipped my body over the edge. He thinks it was the chlorella. :(

He is also happy that Dr. S is running all the tests and such and thinks that will give us a little more insight as to what might be stressing my system.

I totally racheled my chips...they're long gone...a whole bag!

I ate a few more after I posted that, but I managed to leave at least half the bag. :P

The new pic is nice....my mom likes that pic too. Your hair is just like hers...hers has always been straight and long...no bangs....same dark brown too.

Yeah my hair looked pretty stupid in my school pics too! I think it might've been my own fault though.

I hate all my school pics....plus I got the same Catholic School uniform on in every pic. Thankfully my mom didnt pick any of those pics....I would have had to change my mind about letting her decide what I put up.

My hair USED to be very straight, lol. It's kind of ugly wavy now...maybe too many years of blow drying has permanently set some waves...it's not attractive though unless I blow my hair dry. I have bangs now, but they're more wispy than heavy. Never could do the feathered hair thing...I so much wanted a Farrah hairdo, lol. My hair is so fine and was so straight when I was young that it just wouldn't feather. :(

I can totally blame my stupid school hair on my mom, lol. I fought tooth and nail to not have my hair sprayed into a beehive!

Cool...I'm gonna ask him to order me the test. And then I'll know once and for all if maybe Lyme is attacking my cells. Is he giving you a metal test?? A urine challenge?? This is the main thing I wanna get done...hopefully he'll OK it this time.

No urine challenge yet thankfully...and no orange jug for me. I'm just doing the hair elements for now. I think he was trying to keep my costs down which was really nice. I think if the hair analysis shows something he'll probably do more testing. I'm sure at some point he's going to need to know how much is there and how much I can get rid of.

Dr. Rick was really pleased when I said I thought Dr. S would want to go very gently with me. I think Dr. Rick is scared of my adrenals not being able to handle the stress of it all. :(

dlp252 Apprentice

Okay, my chubbo baby picture is loaded on my personal pic. Semi stupid hair in this one.

See I was feeling nauseated too, but didn't actually throw up. Today I didn't have that feeling. Yesterday when I swallowed my throat hurt and the pain went up into my ear...that's gone today.

Both Dr. Rick and Dr. S said some people just can't handle the chlorella.

Dear Alison and Carla,

I think I am sticking with what I have for now. I cringe thinking about my natural hair color on me! You see, I am not the same person I was then. That is sort of what is so important about it. My black hair represents a stronger, smarter, sophisticated, and more spiritual woman.

Alison, as far as attracting good guys goes, I really do not know these men. I do not see anything wrong with people dying their hair one color or getting breast implants. My goal was not to look natural. Glamour is not natural looking. It is not meant to be. I do think there is a line, though. I definitely agree with you there. Pamela Anderson has crossed it with her breasts that could be used as weapons they are so large. I have no idea why any woman would want to have breasts that large. She was gorgeous before.

Here is a little something about men. If they are mentally off, it does not matter what you are wearing or what hair color you have. I had a guy I was friends with for three years nearly rape me on my front porch some years back (in 2002). I had always made it perfectly clear I did not want to be his girlfriend and we would always just be friends. One night while he was over here, he just would not leave me alone. It was so strange, we were just in the middle of a conversation talking about movies, when he started touching me and talking dirty. He stuck his dirty hand down my shorts and pulled on my underwear and I finally got in away from him. It scared me half to death. You what police usually ask when a woman has been raped? They ask what they were wearing! It is always our fault! I was afraid to tell anyone, for fear they would either not believe me, or would blame me. I could not afford legal representation, so I never reported it. Restraining orders are limited, and this guy is sick. He stalked my best friend in public places, and asked about me. He even had the nerve to call me two or three years later and could not believe I was still angry. This guy talked about wanting to perform sexual acts on his twelve year old neighbor! It angers me to no end that people like this walk the streets and are dangerous. You have to end up dead before the police can do anything. By then, it is too late. Anyway, my point is, you can never tell who is evil. You may think you know someone, but you do not. I do not trust anyone for the most part because of this. It shakes everything you ever believed to the core when something like this occurs.

I would like to download a pic of my great-grandmother, who I look like. It is frustrating because it will not allow me to use it as my avatar. So, I am going to attempt to put it in a personal photo. Hopefully, it will work. Something odd is going on with the forum.

Dear Rachel,

YAY! No D! That is a good sign. I would not be surprised if the chlorella did make you ill last week. It might have felt like it had to purge the impurities out of the digestive tract. That would make sense.

Dear Rinne,

Those things sound so good! I love Andrea's name for them! I like that! You could also call them Rinne Bars. That would work.

Dear Claire,

They do not have green hair on there! It is only to copy celebrity looks. I tried red. It was not good! I love how Joss Stone has that magenta in hers! That is so neat! I always kind of wanted pink hair, because I was a huge fan of Jem and the Hollograms when I was little! It was the best cartoon!

I am sorry to hear about your experiment not working. That is so terrible! Remember, we are all pulling for you! If you want, I could do a fertility spell for you to help! I know how badly you want this child!

Dear Donna, Andrea, Patti, and Laura,

All of your pics are so cute! I cannot wait to see everyone else's.

Dear Patti,

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Also, I am glad you told us about the Mystery Diagnosis re-airing! I will want to see that! They had another Lyme Disease case not too long ago! It is important to see this stuff!

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

Tomorrow the product is being launched, so to speak, at a public event. I'll let you know what happens.

The thing I need is a name, ideas?

I'll be thinking about your debut tomorow. It sounds yummy and I definately think all Safeway stores should carry them!! B)

As far as names...I absolutely love Jin's suggestion of Rinne Bars!!! It totally struck me....it sounds perfect to me....I dont think I could come up with anything better than that. :D

I thought was an incredible summation, well done Rachel. :)

Thanks Rinne...I had to laugh at myself because sometimes I'm in such a fog and I'm just rambling on about stuff...later I'm like "Did I write that  ...where the heck did that come from??":lol:

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Well ladies, I'm loving everybodys pics of when they were young !! :D ....BUT! ....DRAT!!! ...I missed Patti's PROM Photo!!!! :(

and when will we see Nikki's childhood pic??? :P

Patti's prom pic was nice...dont let her try and fool ya. ;)

Rachel--24 Collaborator
My mom kept my hair pretty short. Anyone remember Dorothy Hamill? Nuff said. :)

:lol::lol:

I totally laughed at this.....although...I really dont know what Dorthy Hamill looks like.

Yeah...it just sounded funny to me.

California doesn't strike me as being that cold but I would imagine having a heater that worked if needed would help.

I think here in Cali we're a bit spoiled. My mom turned on the heater tonight because it was only 70 degrees in the house.

Dear Everyone,

I finally fixed this! This is my great-grandmother who I look like! She even has that thing under her chin like me! They said she was a very nice person. Her name was Fannie Esther Morse. She died of Ovarian Cancer at 33, when my grandfather was a boy. Great-Grandma Fannie used to be a telephone operator down in Eddyville, Kentucky.

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

They will be repeating the episode on April 29 at 6PM.

I thought of all you guys and thought someone might be interested in catching it. :)

Thanks Patti!!! :)

I'm totally gonna watch it...I know we must get the channel because I did see Mystery Diagnosis once before....when they had Celiac Disease on there.

Rachel--24 Collaborator
So true  especially when you want to flirt with a 26 year old guy.

LMAO!!!

Donna....you cant just tease us like that! We wanna know the story here!! :P

Awww...shucks. :P

We had a great dinner last night at one of our hotel's restaurants. I've NEVER been taken care of so well in a restaurant! A vendor took us out ... we were all impressed by the service, just their normal service, but even he said that the way they took care of me was above and beyond normal good service. I hope his tip adequately reflected that, the waiter was VERY deserving!

Carla...I'm glad you're having such a great time this week!! You definately deserve it. Everything sounds heavenly. You're getting spoiled over there....I'm sooo JEALOUS. :P

Massages, spas, good food....OMG...I guess this means there really is stuff to do in Arizona!!

Rinne, as always, it is great to have you back here. :)

I put up another picture...this was from fall 2002 at PSU....before I was sick.

Ok, I'll load my 4th or 5th grade picture a little later. Mom put my school year pictures in the scrapbook but I couldn't tell what year some of them were, like 2-5th grade.

Funny thing is, I always had sore throat problems. I lost my voice every winter for a couple months from the time I was in middle school and even into college. No one ever thought anything of it ... <_< , not that anyone would have been able to find the cause.

I dont have sore throats...can you believe it!! There is a symptom I dont have!! :o

Actually before I made diet changes my throat was sore alot. It does get sore once in awhile but its always related to something new I've tried to eat. Apparantly I only get sore throats from food intolerance.

Another great photo!

You'll get there again.

How have you been overall?

Rachel--24 Collaborator
For a limited period of time, you can view my dorked out picture of me when I was 12. The sad thing is that I still have that turtleneck and I still wear it! Wait 25 years, and everything comes back into style!

That pic is way better than my school pics. I dont think its dorky at all. I still have clothes from my teenage years too. I can still wear em too....heck...some might even be big on me now.

I have as much a problem parting with clothes as I have with buying new stuff  ...when we were picking out our house the closet space was critical. :P

Good luck with the Big Guns!!!! :)

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Okay, I'm about to load one of my chubbet baby pictures, lol. Tomorrow I'll load me on Santa's lap....in all my baby pictures I look scared.:o

LOL...I gotta see this.

I'm not seeing the new pic yet?? Is it there??? Hmmm...will have to go back and hit F5. <_<

I have Santa pics too....in the earliest one I was crying...my mouth looked just like this. :o

Maybe I'll put that one up too.

About the flirting...I think maybe I forgot how.

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Both Dr. Rick and Dr. S said some people just can't handle the chlorella.

I dunno but I'm definately staying away from it for now. ;)

I took it for a couple weeks and steadily increased the dose....but I wasnt actually taking a TON of it. I didnt feel good mentally...and I was real tired...but not nauseaus at all.

Then I stopped taking it sometime Thursday or Friday. I had my sauna Friday evening....Saturday morning had breakfast and only ONE chlorella tablet....then I got nauseaus and threw up.

I was taking WAY more chlorella before but I dont know if I just had too much in my system or if the sauna had more to do with it or what. I think the sauna probably mobilized some toxins and the chlorella didnt agree with me after that. :(

I was reading on LymeNet that the saunas shouldnt be done in the beginning stages of treatment when the mercury burden is still high....too much can get released and it can cause serious problems.

I'm gonna talk to Dr. S and Anna about it...see what they think. I had read this awhile back on a different site also...so thats why for a long time I've been kind of scared of infrared saunas.

I do want to continue to do them....but not if they're releasing too much mercury into my system. I dont think I would have thrown up had it not been for the sauna...its just too rare of an occurance for me. <_<

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Rinne.....can your treats be shipped???

I would like to place an order for 2 boxes. :D

I can totally blame my stupid school hair on my mom, lol. I fought tooth and nail to not have my hair sprayed into a beehive!

:lol::lol:

Even though I'm laughing I can totally sympathize....if my mom had sprayed my hair into a beehive.....I dunno....it might be unforgiveable.

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.
