It's earlier than I usually make appointments but they didn't have an hour slot until really late in the day, so I took the earlier one.

Dinner will definitely be fun...these girls are a hoot! It's IMPOSSIBLE to NOT have a good time. :P

I remember My Big Fat Geek Wedding...very funny, lol.

I was hairy too...still am a bit I guess...not quite a unibrow, but was moreso when I was younger. Chin pluck. I seem to have a bit less now too.

Kurt came home last night after 10 days and I just burst into tears.

I'm sooooooo glad he's home. :)

Chin pluck.....I thought I was the only one who had to do that. I figured mine started 20 years ago when I was on the pill. Who knows.

I have upper lip hair that's a little darker. I shaved my upper lip (like daddy) when I was 12 or so. I still have crazy hairs on the edges that are darker.

My daughter was born with lots of facial and body hair. Could that have been from the mercury? She has a darker upper lip as well.

Yep, I figure I won't get home until around 1:30 at the earliest tomorrow. My appt. is at 12:00 and it's an hour appointment. Depending on what he says and if I need additional testing etc. But I'll definitely post as soon as I get home. I'm going out to dinner with my friends to celebrate one of their birthday's--I definitely will post before I leave for that, so you all aren't hanging. :P

I'll be anxious to hear! Glad you have a dinner engagement to get your mind off it for a little while :) I can't figure out--will I have to wait till 4:30 to hear (my time)?:unsure: I am seriously confused! :o

Yea for Kurt getting home! It's been quite the 10 days for you. :(

Nope--I've been plucking the chin hairs for about 10 years now. Have never taken hormones, either. I don't know what causes it--maybe I just make too much estrogen or something.

I now use a magnified mirror so I don't miss any  Actually comes in handy for plucking my eyebrows. Now there's a lovely image

Andrea--how was your french toast?

Rachel--24 Collaborator
Is it B-O or Bo? Cute picture of you and BO or Bo. :P

LOL.....ummm...its Bo. :P

I dont know why I made it look like he was called BO.

Bo had a sister named Casper. We got them at the same time....I picked Casper and my ex picked Bo. They had to be kept in seperate cages...cuz... you know how rabbits are.

Casper died when she was about 4....before we even moved to Manteca. Bo died less than a year after I gave him to my friend. Rabbits have short life spans. :(

I called the Dr.'s office about my CD57. The guy who answered the phone said the Dr. goes over results at the follow-up appt. I'm like....ummm...I'm not a new patient and my next appt. is like 6 weeks away.

He transfered me to the nurses and the nurse said shes gonna leave him a note...cuz my appt. is far away...and its just the one CD57....pretty explanatory. I just want the numbers and we can go over it when I see him. I dont think hes gonna want me to come in sooner....and I dont think he'll want me to wait that long for the results either.

Plus I might DIE if I have to wait that long!!

Rachel--I LOVE what you did with your yard! You have a definate knack for it. It looks like something out of HGTV. :D

Thanks Patti....next week I'll put up a pic of my HEINOUS bourganvillia. :D

Yeah...I was really sick at the time I was doing all that stuff but the yardwork, being outside, keeping my body temp raised seemed to help me alot. I felt alot worse when I was just sitting inside.

Eventually it got to where I couldnt do much of anything and I stopped doing stuff in the yard for like 2 years. It was when I went on the candida diet that I got my strength back and started doing projects again. :)

I can do stuff on my own...I built the pond...I built the scrapbook area with no help from anyone. My ex didnt understand how sick I was...noone did back then. I looked normal and I could still do things as long as it was hot outside and as long as I wasnt eating too much. I was all excited about the pond and how much I'd accomplished in one day....since when I woke up that day I had no idea I'd be building a pond.

My ex thought someone helped me...that I had been cheating since I was at home everyday and not going to work....but at night I was always very worn out and not feeling good. :(

Sometimes I hate this whole sickness and what it did to my life.

I cant believe it!!!

I do NOT have floaters!! :o

I know we've discussed this before but yeah....maybe I dont have Lyme after all!!!

:lol::lol:

Just kidding Carla. :P

I've never had any floaters...it must be the only symptom I dont get...and I'm pretty excited that there is at least ONE symtpom that I definately DONT have. :D

Part of me thinks my CD57 might not be low. We'll see...but I just think it might not be that low. <_<

If it is....well then yeah...I guess I'm wrong.

Somehow I don't think he'll make you wait that long.

Well, it's the confused leading the confused then. I think, yes, at least 4:30 your time, lol, but don't hold me to that, lol.

Plus I might DIE if I have to wait that long!!

It's not only YOUR life that might end...tell them there are about 10 other people who might die if you don't find out.

I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. :(

Things will only continue to get better though. You're health will improve and as you feel better everthing else will continue to improve.

Part of me thinks my CD57 might not be low. We'll see...but I just think it might not be that low. <_<

I'm really hoping you get a phone call the next couple days. I want to know now too. :)

I've not done much with school today. Talitha has one class done and we've got two more to do. :)

I so understand about this. I was the same way--I looked normal, and I always tried to act as if everything was fine. (which, looking back was pretty darn stupid) If I had to be somewhere, I would (not) eat accordingly. My whole life seemed to revolve around my symptoms.

Any energy I had went to my kids. Thank God I have a very understanding husband--but honestly, if the situation were reversed, I don't know if I'd have been so understanding.

I figured that if doctors couldn't find anything wrong, it must be just me.I went years like that. Finally, I came to realize that this wasn't normal--other people didn't have to think up excuses all the time as to why they can't go places and do things. of course by then, a lot of time had gone by....

Little by little, I just stopped doing anything that would take me too far out of the house. I'll never have that 20 years back. I try not to think about it--nothing I can do now about it anyway.

So I truly feel you when you talk about hating all of this and what it did to your life. It's not fair

CarlaB Enthusiast

Oh, yeah, how can I completely forget like that? It's so strange ...

My Big Fat Greek Wedding -- LOVE it! I laughed shamelessly at the theater when I saw it and we own the DVD. Hysterical.

I never had the body hair problem. Adam teases me about my lack of it, calls me the hairless wonder... white fuzz on my arms and legs ... I only have to shave the bottom part of my legs, not the top ... no facial hair at all. In fact, I get my eyebrows dyed darker because they're so light. I have to get them waxed because you can't see them ... what's the point, I know ...

I understand this too...living it now. People invite me places and I'm always saying no (unless it's one of my good friends--they know all about my woes, lol).

All my energy right now is going into making sure I can continue working. I need the medical insurance (such as it is--just found out I have a $500 annual maximum on preventative medicine--isn't that just the stupidest thing in the world...let's pay thousands of dollars for treatments, but let's not spend much to make sure you DON'T get sick) and I need the money to pay the bills, lol.

I'm way more withdrawn than I used to be...don't talk as much (well except to strangers in doctor's waiting rooms  ).

Yep, I understand it.

i would die if I had to wait 6 weeks for ANY test result! In fact, six minutes is too long for me! I HATE waiting.

Carla- you sound just like my sis. She's just peach fuzz (she's blonde) but the payback is that my hair is WAY thicker than hers. We're adopted so not blood related but she used to threaten to cut all my hair off in the middle of the night which is probably why i still sleep with a pillow over my head  My hubby and friends call it the head sandwich!

rachel- I'm sorry about the bunnies. Our neighbors downstairs had one named Moose and we were so sad when he went to Bunny Heaven :( He lived indoors with a litter box like a cat. :D

I have a celiac disease 57 question- I understand that it's a measurement of the "killer cells" that are specific to Lyme but let's say it comes back "normal" (above 60 right? with optimal being 200?) That may just mean that the Lyme is currently not active in your system even though you may have been exposed? Would it mean that the symptoms I'm experiencing are NOT due to Lyme even though I may have Lyme anyway?

I too am feeling very irritable and sad these days about all the illness I've experienced in the last 4 years. My hubby is so good but sometimes I feel bad for him. :(

Okay, I put up a picture of my dad's yard...that was several years ago...I haven't seen the house in over 11 years so I don't know what it looks like now...I still own the house (along with my sisters and brother) but I can't go near it...long story.

And, on my personal page...my first dog Coco...OMG I LOVED those ears, lol. EDIT: OH, and note the lime green shoelaces!

I'm not sure. My lymphocytes were low on my regular blood panel from my regular doctor, but for some reason I'm expecting the CD57 test to be normal. If it is normal, I'll ask the doctor your question.

CarlaB Enthusiast

Bev, I have thick hair, too ... even now after some of it's fallen out from the illness ... my stylist said that it's growing back.

Donna, beautiful yard. I know all about those long stories ...

I feel bad for my hubby, too, but he doesn't feel the same way at all. He likes taking care of me. :P ... it's a good thing, it's his vocation!

@catnapt,  Wheat germ contains high amounts of lectins which are really hard to digest and can be irritating to the digestive tract.  They can stimulate IgG antibody production as your blood test shows.   Even beans have lectins.  You've simply eaten too many lectins and irritated your digestive tract.   You may want to allow your digestive tract to rest for a week, then start on gluten in "normal" food, not in concentrated vital wheat gluten. This explains it well: Lectins, agglutinins, and their roles in autoimmune reactivities https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25599185/

I take Now B-1 (100 mg) Thiamine Hydrochloride, and Amazing Formulas L-Tryptophan (1000 mg).   Both are gluten free and free of other allergens.  I've taken them for a long time and haven't had a problem with them. I take Vitamin A from BioTech called "A-25".  It's gluten and allergen free and made in the USA.  It's a powder form of Vitamin A.  I was having trouble digesting fats at one point, but found I tolerated the powder form much better and have stuck with it since.   Tryptophan and Vitamin A help heal the intestines as well as improves skin health.  I get Dermatitis Herpetiformis and eczema flairs when my stomach is upset.  So I'm healing the outside as well as the inside.   I take one 1000 mg Tryptophan before bedtime.   With the Thiamine HCl, take 100 mg to start.  If you don't notice anything, three hours later take another. You can keep increasing your dose in this manner until you do notice improvement.  Remember not to take it in the evening so it won't keep you too energized to sleep. When I first started Thiamine HCl, taking 500 mg to 1000 mg to start was recommended.  If you've been thiamine insufficient for a while, you do notice a big difference.  It's like the start of a NASCAR race: Zoom, Zoom, turn it up!   This scared or made some people uncomfortable, but it's just your body beginning to function properly, like putting new spark plugs in your engine.  I took 1000 mg all at once without food.  It kicked in beautifully, but I got a tummy ache, so take with food.  I added in Thiamine TTFD and Benfotiamine weeks later and felt like I was Formula One racing.  So cool.  You may feel worse for a couple days as your body adjusts to having sufficient thiamine.  Feels sort of like you haven't cranked your engine for a while and it backfires and sputters, but it will settle down and start purring soon enough.  Adjust your dose to what feels right for you, increasing your dose as long as you feel improvement.  You can reach a plateau, so stay there for several days, then try bumping it up again.  If no more improvements happen, you can stay at the plateau amount and experiment with increasing your Thiamine TTFD.  It's like being your own lab rat.  LoL Yes, take one Benfotiamine at breakfast and one at lunch.  Take the B Complex at breakfast. Take the TTFD at breakfast and lunch as well.  I like to take the vitamins at the beginning of meals and the NeuroMag at the end of meals.   You may want to add in some zinc.  I take Thorne Zinc 30 mg at breakfast at the beginning of the meal.   Are you getting sufficient Omega Threes?  Our brains are made up mostly of fat.  Flaxseed oil supplements, sunflower seed oil supplements (or eat the seeds themselves) can improve that.  Cooking with extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil is also helpful.   @Wheatwacked likes phosphotidyl choline supplements for his Omega Threes.  He's also had dramatic health improvement by supplementing thiamine.  You're doing great!  Thank you for sharing your journey with us.  This path will smooth out.  Keep going!
    • catnapt
good luck! vital wheat gluten made me violently ill. I will touch the stuff ever again.
    • catnapt
I wouldn't consider this lucky. I can NOT tolerate the symptoms. And I googled it and I was not even getting 10 grams of gluten per day and I was extremely ill. They'd have to put me in the hospital. I'm not kidding.   I will have my first appt with a GI dr on March 4th   I will not eat gluten again - at least not on purpose   they are going to have to come up with a test that doesn't require it.
    • xxnonamexx
What Thiamine Hydrochloride brand do you take? Is it like the other vitamins I have added? What brand Tryptophan and amount do you take. Thanks
